Gordon Banks R.I.P.

Very sorry to hear this news. One of the all time greats.

The save from Pele was probably my all time favourite non GAA sporting moment.

May He Rest In Peace.

John Morrison RIP. Former county manager. GAA innovator.

That's just, like your opinion man.

Banks seemed a genuinely good man as well as one of the world's best keepers at that time.  RIP

Big shock that.  His rattling of Pillar in the AISF was GAA comedy gold!

Innovator.

Coaching legend.

What age was John? Would have read his column in the Armagh Gazette. A lot of it seemed "out there" a few years ago in the context of local GAA, but definitely ahead of the curve on mental attitude etc.

Think John was late 60's. R.I.P.

Shocking news. RIP Beefer.

John's sudden passing has come as a shock. A larger than life character and a giant of our Club over the last fifty years, having been Chairman in the late seventies and early eighties when we acquired and redeveloped our ground at Abbey Park. He was deservedly inducted into our Hall of Fame in recent years.

The end of John's long Championship career with Armagh Harps coincided with my own Championship debut, when he played full back in front of me, marking Peter Rafferty of the Grange - May 1988 in Ballymacnab - fond memories.

Beefer was one of the few players at our Club who made the ball 'whistle' during shooting practice, such was the force he used to generate with that left peg of his! Not an enjoyable experience trying to stop them. His loss will be felt not just in the Morrison household, but in our Club and in Armagh City generally.

Sorry to hear about John Morrison, much too young to leave us.

I remember him as a young teacher arriving in the Geography department in Greenpark CBS.  He was such a character compared to the staid old lads and brothers who made up the staff.  Everyone wanted to be in Beefer's class.  He went on to lecture St Mary's in Belfast.

Ah no. What a save that was from Pele that time. RIP.

First thing that came into my head. RIP.
First thing I thought of also. He played for St Pat's once if I'm not mistaken.

The smile in comparison to Caffreys thick lug, gave us probably our greatest day in my lifetime and was poorly treated afterwards.
