Corofin seem to be afraid to finish off games in normal time. Both against St. Brid's and Mitchels they contrived to give both a chance to equalise in normal time.

Brigids dominated the final 20 or so minutes of regular time. It's harder to explain how they let Mitchels back into it today.

They probably gave Mitchel more respect than they should have. Corofin easily the best team in Connacht. And will be strong Contenders on the National stage.

Rudi

Corofin are by far the best in Connacht little worrying that they can't put away teams. A game of this stature should not have been played on a pitch as poor as Tuam. Players can't be faulted for effort, the pitch made them look bad at times.

Corofin are only just about the best in Connacht, and with lads like Fitzgerald, McGrath and Lundy starting to break down the gap isn't there anymore. They're a good team but there's no longer any fear factor around them at Connacht level.

Castlebar players made unusual Connacht final entrance

Castlebar Mitchels players were forced to jump a wall to gain entry to the Tuam Stadium pitch for today's Connacht club SFC final against Corofin.

The gates were closed when they left their dressing-room - was it a case of them being too early or was there some gamesmanship involved? By the time the Corofin players emerged from their changing room, the gates had opened.

Tuam Stadium is effectively a second home for Corofin, who went on to beat their Mayo rivals after extra-time to retain the Shane McGettigan Cup.

Lundy is only 27 I think.

They'll have to replace the other two in the year year or two alright.

I mean more to do with him carrying injuries than anything else. He's been burnt out after about 45 minutes the last two days.

I don't know how much of McGrath's stretchering off was playacting because he seemed to be jumping around celebrating just fine after the match.

He wasn't burnt out, he picked up a dead leg against Brigids and today he was just over a week after an appendix operation. I'd imagine they have 2 ready made replacements for Kieran Fitz and McGrath already in Daithí Burke and Dylan McHugh.

Probably asked this before but where have Castlebars Ritchie and Alan Feeney gone too? There was another lad who played with Galway Utd  Tom King?

Corofin game off.

Costly postponement for Corofin, you'd hope the costs for the refixture will be covered by the GAA.
