Liverpool be happy with the point I'd say after a very poor performance.
They looked like a team that turned up expecting to win without a battle.

Anyone else find Arteta seriously hard to like?

That Arsenal all or nothing documentary on Amazon was unwatchable because of him

I would say that on the surface, I like the way Klopp carries himself more than any other premier league manager.
I have been an Arsenal fan for probably longer than a few on this board have been alive, and usually go to one or two games a year.
Arteta is ok, I am sure he is under a lot of pressure to win a championship. He needs the balls to put Saka (and maybe Nketiah) on the bench for a while. If Saka wasn't English, there would not be a word about him, a 40 MM contract over four years FFS. This past Saturday was another glaring example of this.
Without Odegarrd, and if Martinnelli is not on, they are easy to contain.
They got very lucky V Many City a month ago, if they lost that one the would be out of it already.
Positives, they play attractive soccer, easy on the eye, I just hate lazy over payed players.
Saka should go watch Rooney back in the day bursting his arse running the length of the filed to defend.

Interesting take on Saka. Certainly gone off the boil a little bit and is double teamed every time he is on the ball. I think he needs a few games rest, playing him against Lens really annoyed me. I haven't considered his efforts lazy however. Against Newcastle again at the weekend they just took turns booting him around the park.

Odegard cutting a very frustrated player on the field with his high pressing efforts and looks around and is chasing shadows by himself.

I do think the lack of a plan B in an attacking sense is a major issue.

That said, it was a dumb lucky goal that could have easily been struck off against a team who had played with 11 men when it should have been 10. Certainly happy that the soft underbelly of teams gone by (for whom Arteta played) is definitely gone, and this team is happy to go toe to toe on a wet night up north.

Saka comment about watching Rooney is unbelievably stupid.. He's been run into the ground by Arteta and Southgate, he's been taken off injured 3 out last 5 games because of an ongoing Achilles problem.

Needs rested/rehab and Nelson/Havertz need put Right Wing for a string of games and play well to get him that rest.

As for Arteta, I like him but find him very stubborn - Refuses to admit Reya, Havertz aren't working and that Zinchenko is a liability. Tierney, Emile Smith Rowe and Ramsdale are better than those players he brought into replace them

ONeill

I think Tierney and ESR are too injury-prone at this level and need to be shifted on.
I wanna have my kicks before the whole shithouse goes up in flames.

I'm surprised that Tierney was shipped out on loan.  Had a few unfortunate injuries but thought he had a future at the Gunners.

ONeill

That was hard-earned today. Kept at it and stepped it up last 10. Reminded me of Utd under Fergie in terms of just knocking on the door until it opens.

Big win. If Arsenal come away with anything less than 3 pts when you have a chance to top the lead, it would have been a body blow I think. Was seasonally important to get all 3

ONeill

Interesting to see how they react next weekend. You'd imagine they'll rest a pile midweek in the CL.

Not sure what it is but for some reason each Arsenal defeat fills me with glee.

Whatever happens this season they'll keep it interesting!

Sportacus

They are proven chokers and
Rice is the biggest pile of overhyped nonsense since last year when it was Jesus and Zinchenko that were going to make all the difference.

ONeill

The break couldn't come at the right time for Arsenal. Think it's 3 weeks now before another league game. The team looked out on their legs for 3 games now. Badly need players back and maybe delve into the market if they can afford it. Odegaard trying his best but not getting a pile of help.

You'd imagine City will take it from here as they've had their blip as well as Arsenal, but with a quality group to return. However, if Arsenal can regroup, rest, get Timber, Partey, Smith Rowe and Tomiyasu back to full fitness, they should make it interesting. Can't see Villa lasting the pace. Need to hang onto City to find out if they've the hunger late on.

I think Rice has been excellent. Scoring 2 late winners from defensive midfield and usually the driving force behind the team. The last couple of games he has been less effective, but personally I put that down to the full backs being poor and he has been doing a huge amount of work covering.

Saliba's probably the best centre half in the league.

Lack of a good 9 is getting most of the attention, but I think it's more down to Saka and Martinelli not reaching their levels of last season.  Both were consistently top class last year and it's a bit of second season syndrome for them. Both perhaps playing a bit too much football. They need more goals/assists from both, and it may well come. No doubting that Saka in particular is top class.
