Always interesting to see who is on the college teams these days. I had no idea Paddy Durcan was up with UUJ. Both Daly's still missing for NUIG. Have a lot of trouble with injuries those boys. Anyone know what club Patrick O'Donnell is?

skeog

Big spending UUJ being outshone by St Marys again who seem to have a lot of players on the panel, who are club players only.

UU are always packed with stars. That was fine 15 years ago when you had access to players but what you need now are good club players who will train, eat and sleep Sigerson. The county men are just not going to do that. UU havent learned that at all in seems - even DCU seem to be waking up to it. Marys Belfast are the example to everyone of how to be successful in Sigerson, no player poaching just good honest team ethic.

Spot on. Had experience of this myself, when I was in college. One year about 5/6 of our panel were on a particular county panel, whose manager held them on a ridiculously tight reign. They very rarely trained with us, and their introduction come Sigerson time blew up all cohesiveness we had built up. Of course we wanted them in the team as they were big players, but once they came in we were no longer a unit.

Duine Eile

NUIG v UCC game has been moved to Sunday, 17th February at the request of NUIG. Still not ideal but at least it gives Kieran Molloy and David Shaw the chance to play in both. As is stands, the UCD game is still down for Saturday so Liam Silke is still going to miss out.

A bit of shock half time score in the first of the two semi finals. St Marys 0-7 UCD 0-0
Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

Twitter suggests UCD played against a 'strong' wind during the 1st half.

Apparently so and UCD have lost a few players to black cards.

There were a number of live games streamed on youtube during the Sigerson but the actual semi-final today is only available on delayed coverage. Seems bizarre. Is it because it clashes with the club semi-finals?

Another big spending side bites the dust.

Blowitupref

FT St Marys 0-10 UCD 0-7. Some result for Marys against the Sigerson cup favorites.

Because UCD for player welfare reasons decided not to force Liam Silke to play twice in 24 hours.
It's quite a stance as he's been outstanding for them in Sigerson this year.
