The gamble with McHugh didn't work out either. He was obviously not fit to start.

Save by Cork goalie at 0-10 to 0-08 followed by goal for Cork was the real difference. Cork pulled away well from there. Tipp's Quinlivan, Quirke and McGrath injuries didn't help either. Lesson learned for Tipp though, they'll be back nearly all underage next year. Shows you can't take success for granted and have to keep working. I know they have been working, but sometimes a defeat in a big game teaches you more than you ever learn winning.
