GJL, any idea on what would be a reasonable price to fit a turbo. It's a Peugeot 207 1.6hdi, apparently that engine is notorious for dodgy turbos.

Labour charge could be around £100ish

fair enough, i'll get it booked in. is it a fair price? Is it DIY-able?

Not really, as far as I remember it is inside the gearbox bell housing. Good enough price.

Came back with an intermittent crankshaft sensor after it was plugged in. £110 + Vat to have it repaired.

what do we think serious? Safe to Ignore?

If it fails the car will stop and not start again. Your gamble.

f**k, you're easily swayed by some snake oil salesman jibber jabber!

I'm in Irishman, living in the US, supporting an English soccer team I never played for, from a city in which I have never lived, with players I have never met and a German manager I don't know. My mood is known to change depending on how they do against another 11 strangers from all over the world playing for other english clubs. I think the jibber jabber is the least of my problems.

GAA is so much simpler.

He seems mental. Sahko is mental. They could be a match made in heaven.

I'm at least expecting the team to be exciting, and full of effort again. And if they aren't I think he'll get rid of them and put in people who will play the way he likes. I can't wait for his first dash down the touchline to celebrate in front of the Kop. The mad b**tard.

As long as 'the committee' agrees!  :o

United are like a spotty teenage boy stalking the hot blonde who is way out of his league  ;D

A bit like a random mid table club thinking a manager like Carlo Ancilloti would be interested in managing them.

Not necessary to go to a dealer. Any decent mechanic will have the computer to do it and will charge a lot less.

Good man, thanks, I'll get on to it in the morning!

My guess is dpf or associated sensors. If not that maybe egr valve.

Was due to leave the car over at the garage this evening, but the light and warning message - which had been there all day, were gone!lol So if they don't come back on I'm just gonna drive away at her. Strange! :o
I'd be very surprised if it does not come back.

If it was the DPF it could have gone though a regeneration to clear itself and knocked the warning message out.

As far as I know as soon as the light comes on it is beyond automatic regeneration and stops trying. It then requires a forced regeneration by mechanic's computer or the dpf needs removed and cleaned.

One of the issues maybe leadership on the pitch if Rooney is dropped. Obviously Schweinsteiger is a very experienced player, as is Carrick, but are they leader types? Is Rooney for that matter? Smalling would seem to be a natural leader, but when your better players are very young, sometimes leadership can be an issue.

Rooney isn't a leader. Schweisteiger is a leader, he's captained a great German & Bayern side many times. I agree on Smalling, he's becoming a very good player and has leadership qualities.

It must be only a matter of time before Rooney's form causes an issue in the dressing room, everyone else has noticed how poor he is so his team mates will have picked up on it too. He's not scoring goals unless its against a poor team, he has one league goal in 15 games and that was a bit of a fluke. His pace has disappeared, he can't close down an opponent like he used too, he has no creativity apart from the odd decent long pass to Valencia, he has very few assists the last 12 months. His first touch & awareness of whats around him are appalling too, age has caught up with him and he's finished at an early age like Torres & Shevchenko.

If a small injury were to put him out for a week or 2 it would be interesting to see how things would pan out. ;)

He survived the draw with Carlisle, but the draw with Everton was a humiliation too far.

Seriously, I would have thought he was safe for another game. The only logic I can think of is to use the international break as an opportunity to cleanse the stables. There are two obvious candidates, either of whom would be very popular. Shouldn't be too hard to get this right.

Right?

I think the decision was made a few weeks ago. They've only win 3 games in 11 and 2 of those were the first 2 games of the league. I'd say they looked at things after the WHU game and said we'll give him a few more to see how it goes. The run of poor performances was dreadful. I'd say after Carlisle the decision was made.

I still believe there is the nucleus of a very good team. Get the right manager and playing system in and the players are there to push up to challenge for top 4. By doing it now they're giving themselves a bit of a chance.

Agree. I would have thought the timing was to tie in with the international break, to give a little bit of space to get the new guy in, with as little disruption as possible.

Football's a ruthless business but managers know the story - it's results based.  Brendan can have no complaints and should know the score. He got well rewarded on the basis of getting good results.  The results haven't been good enough given the money invested.

I'd be amazed if a deal was not already done before he was sacked. It would be mad to sack him and then start hunting.

Is today not a win-win situation for Liverpool? Win the game and bag the three points. Draw or lose and more pressure mounts on BR.
