James is a good lad and I'm glad to see him win. Probably were better options but that's not his fault. As for women's boxing?? Terrible.

Yeah I think last night was one of those tick box games especially after the city game at the weekend.

I thought Mata did well again and always performs when called upon.

Agree with MM Pogba is a massive miss from the middle and he seems to bring the other players up a level even with his presence.

Whats the story with Miki? Havent heard any injury concerns (might be wrong) I thought he had done enough to prove himself to JM but it would appear not of late.

Baily big loss for sure, but Jones did have a decent game last night, even if he is a bit rash.

Mkhitaryan not injured according to journo's just well out of favour like this time last year. I reckon he'll be back in the frame for Bristol City next week. He's been a huge disappointment and had little impact this season, I was expecting him to shine this season but he clearly hasn't, he'll probably get another chance to save his United career but I have my doubts whether he has the right mentality to succeed at United.

I can see Blind, Darmian, Herrera, Mata & Mkhitaryan all been sold this summer if replacements are found.

I agree on all except Mata. He should be kept as he is a solid squad player who can do a great job when required.

Great news about Micky Kerr as new county chairman. Just thinking it will be great to have a carmen clubman handing the O’neill Cup over to a carrickmore captain on the steps of Healy Park next september   ;) ;D

I'll enjoy watching him hand it over to the Errigal captain. 😉

Anyone here into the mountain biking? I've got a road bike and enjoy it OK but recently started mountain biking and love it.

Yep, I used to do quite a bit and race. Just don't have as much time now or the same social circle. You'll find it attracts less t**ts too, the middle aged men with more money than wit spending 5k on a new bike to save 3/4kg despite weighing 100kg.

LOL I know what you mean. Hard to beat being out on a trail with no traffic near you. I've been using Blessingburn Estate in Fivemiletown. It is brilliant. Plan to get to Davagh over the holidays.

It's great at night too. Nothing better than flying down fire trails with the lights on, you need a good set of lights though.

how did you boys get into mountain biking?

I did a bit of cycling on the roads and a few of the guys I got to know in the local club were into the mountain bikes especially in the winter when it was not suitable to road bike. One of them had a spare bike so I went out one Sunday. I loved it so bought my own MTB and intend to get out plenty. Blessingburn estate is only 25 mins away in the car so handy enough. It and a few other places will rent a suitable bike for £20 a day if you want to try it out. Great craic.

United are 2nd, 3 points ahead of Chelsea, 5 points ahead of Liverpool, 6 points ahead of Arsenal and 7 points ahead of Spurs, you'd think we were miles behind everyone the way some of you are going on. There's a reason why 70 points is the most we've achieved in the last 4 years.

LVG & Moyes spent over £320m on players which would probably equate to about £500m in todays market and there's only one top class player bought out of that lot in Martial. The pair of them wasted a fortune.

We're a work in progress and clearly we're a better team than last year but United are still a few players short.

Is buying players the only solution now, is it fair to say managers are no longer expected to make players better? Are the days of an obscure buy now well and truly behind us?

Yeah that’s what I wa thinking when you often hear “he doesent have his own team” about top level managers. What happened to coaching up players that have deficiencies & improving what you have ? Surely that’s the sign of a great manager?

I'd say the managers are well capable of doing this and to an extent still do but to be fair in the modern game they are not given much time to do this. Results are demanded immediately and if they don't appear the manager is at a risk of getting fired.

I thought Seanie was going a bit OTT on Mourinho, at the end of the day they are in second place, in the last 16 of Europe, and won two trophies last year including a European trophy. I'd love that at Liverpool, put it like that.

However yesterday I thought United were afraid of City. I've not seen that in a long time, since Moyes certainly. And never with Ferguson. They looked way more dangerous when they went behind both times, which to me indicates that the game plan was needlessly conservative.

And then to read the nonsense afterwards in the City dressing room. That's mental stuff.

Ye have the opposite problem at Liverpool - a manager who doesn't seem to interested in setting up or organising a defence. But by God does he let his attackers go out and express themselves.

Mourinho was a bad fit for United. Never should have been let in the gate. I just hope when he decides to walk out that the bungling board can find a far more suitable replacement with the character and bravery to manage this club. He was put in as a quick fix and rarely do quick fixes work. This will not work.

Last year he won a few trophies and got Utd back in the Champions League so in terms of a 'quick fix' it has already worked. Long term who knows but I do share your frustration on how he sets up against the other top 6ish teams. We will see plenty more of this type of tactics in the now knock out stages of Europe..

Not that disappointing as I would of been surprised to get much from the game as City have shown themselves to be the best in the league but could of had a draw in the end. Seems it is the battle to see who is the best of the rest!

Get in. 1-0

Keep with the program fella, everyone will be on at half time now to say Everton will surely get an equaliser.

Na. That's only when they are 3-0 up.
