You should be proud to be able to access one of the Best stadiums in Europe and home of the Super Duper Dublin team. If you are not happy with the food Bring your own Bags of food in!
My favourite thing about Croke Park is when tickets go on sale for the Bring a friend with your season ticket and they put you in 314 in the Cusack Stand. Look at 314 below and tell me how that can be in the Cusack Stand?

The fact that they do charge the same for different seats is bizarre, why not allow people choose €50 seats or €25 seats, and there is no excuse for instant coffee these days. Overpriced is usual, the coffee in the Athletic Grounds is even cheaper instant coffee and poor value also.

Feck off with that shíte. There's already general seating, terrace, premium and corporate seating, suggesting more is needed is nonsense. This isn't the EPL or the NFL.

That it isn't the EPL does not change that some of the seats are not as good as others.
For instance, charging less for the Davin might have suited some people last week when the terrace was not open.
Sitting row e section 306,drowned by a heavy shower towards end of Armagh match.Time for a retractable roof. Also agree it is nonsensical that all seats have the same price, when some are crap and other great
Just glad to be in Croke Park in August.
20 odd Counties would love to have our problems..
Touch line seats are great, but risky with the weather. You gotta just take the rough with smooth.
I was in row V in the Lower Davin. Got very lucky in that the row in front us got a drenching and we escaped with splashes of rain water on our feet. That was a pretty intense shower at the end of our game.

I'm in row U - typical!!
always go for the double number. kk or thereabouts is ideal as your right beside the entrance, great sightlines and well covered by the roof
It's a disgrace that it's such a lottery. You have discovered on an Internet forum that your ticket, that you purchased in good faith, is for an uncovered seat.
No matter what the weather, could be a really hot day, the disabled section in Croke Park is a bloody wind tunnel. Freezing up there.
Plus, there isn't a big enough drop in the row in front. Gits stand up and we see nothing.
If there was an Olympics for moaning we'd win gold every single time. It's Ireland, it rains sometimes, by a poncho for a couple of quid and get on with it ffs.

Section 400s for wheelchair users is just ticking off that you are providing for such users. Terrible place to watch games. At least old Croke park gave sideline location.

I don't accept that. If you bought something in a shop and it was substandard you'd complain and rightly so. I paid almost £130 for 4 tickets and found that they were substandard and we got soaked.

More seriously, that's a bit harsh, but there is room for improvement, especially in the coffee.

I was at the All Ireland Final last year and had the best seats I ever had at a final, near the middle of the Cusack about 15 rows from the front. I got soaked, did I think they were substandard? Not on your nelly...
I accept an argument that someone sitting up in the Gods, particularly in the corners shouldn't pay as much as someone closer to the action but I'd prefer to sit in the rain than up there any day.
No issues with the pints I got behind 701 yesterday, I did decline the cheeseburger though when asked for 6 euro for it. Row G in upper Cusack, we were completely dry, was an awful deluge towards the end of the first game.
Agree that seats exposed to the elements should be reduced accordingly, or at least accompanied by a free poncho! But I'd say the majority of lower deck seats bar from KK onwards could be exposed depending on what direction the rain is coming down.
Would much prefer a lower deck seat vs an upper. Game looks so different from above.

Its not the fact that it's instant, it's the fact that it's more expensive than what you'd pay a barista to make for you anywhere else. I have on many occasions defended the GAA on issues relating to finance but it's wrong to completely rip off your own people as soon as you get them inside the ground

The catering in Croke Park isn't provided by the GAA it is outsourced to Aramark
It's Ireland. It rains... occasionally. Prepare accordingly. Can't blame the GAA for the weather. And the beer is grand! No worse than you'd get in the pub. Irish begrudgement in full display in this thread.
Had a great bit of food at the carvery at the hill end of the lower cusack - even with a full house it wasn't too busy. I think most people don't know it's there.

Yea I was being sarcastic..i actually think the uncovered seats are more valuable as it means you are closer to the pitch no?

Don't attempt to tell them they're preferable in good weather either, they might have a breakdown.
I'd rather get soaked at the front than be in the nosebleed seats and dry.
Due to the fact that Croke Park is not of symmetrical construction all the way around, a retractable roof is out of the question. At this stage, it is impossible to take those stands all the way around. As a result, the cantilever only allows the cover to go so far. When the Hogan Stand was being constructed, it was decided to make the cover one metre longer than the rest of the stadium. It cost a million punts to do it. There has to be a balance re shade etc to ensure that the field is exposed to the exact equation of sun, light and rain to make it what it is and even with that, there has to be a light making machine on the field for all of the winter and most of the summer.
So, to make those first 20 rows of the stadium waterproof, would take an effort which would be cost prohibitive and lead to serious negative impacts on the field. And even with that, the type of drizzle which Ireland gets usually blows in sheets and can sometimes get right into the covered area if the wind is blowing that direction.
So
In ireland we have a temperate climate. It rains quite a lot. We know that. We live here. We also have very accurate weather forecasts which can tell us if it is going to be wet. People who look out the window on a showery day and the sun is shining so they bring no coat, deserve all they get. It never ceases to amaze me how dreadfully unprepared some people are for the weather when they attend games.
Finally. Oneills, Nike, Adidas 'rainproof' coats are not waterproof. In Ireland we think nothing of spending fortunes on cars, televisions, iphones, fashion, but a one off once in a lifetime payment of about £200 would get you a really good waterproof suit, the type won by mountain walkers, with proper goretex waterproof properties.
Rant over.
That arguement fails to stack up that when you look at fully covered soccer grounds, where the pitch is smaller, being designed in a way that offers 100% cover without compromising pitch condition. But you hit the nail on the head, money was the issue so they spoiled the ship for a ha'porth of tar. But in doing so if they even recognised that they made this sacrifice and in return offered those seats at a lesser price then that would be acceptable. The £200 walking coat arguement is just silly and it's clear that unlike me you don't have 5 kids to clothe, but it's good of you to let us know that O'Neills gear is not waterproof. I'll bear that in mind next time I'm buying a coat

I partook in the chips myself and they were awful. So you expect to get ripped off inside CP (€4 for a few chips), but it was the fact that they were the worst type of oven chips you could get. They were vile.
