Best of luck tomorrow lads.

Really pains me to say it as a Down man but your a good few levels above us, so give the bolloxes a good hammering for the whole of Ulster.

A narrow defeat and they would still have it in their own hands, anything else and you would think that would be it all over

Leo Murphy cup

It's a relegation trophy, a B c'ship, for teams who were put out early. They beat Antrim and Fermanagh to win it!

What's the Tailteann cup again?

Quote from: thewobbler on May 09, 2024, 10:03:32 PMI honestly would love a rule passed somehow somewhere that sellers cannot cross county lines.

Newry Shamrocks, Burren, Mayobridge etc are fundraising, and I'm happy to support it. But a club from e.g Derry? What in holy f**k are they doing taking GAA money out of Down?

If you arrive at my door the first thing I'll ask is "do you pay your senior manager?"
And if the answer is yes, then you can f**k right off

If you've money for that, then you've got your priorities all wrong.

Quote from: Look-Up! on Today at 07:00:22 AMRatcliffe making a lot of noise for a minority stakeholder. Cut all the perks of the staff for FA cup final day just before a swanky lunch for the players' WAGs, all paid for by the club. Nice.

Staff are getting 1 ticket and have to pay £20 for the bus? They have 1,100 staff! as for the dinner, seems that's been a tradition going back to Busby.

I hope they beat Arsenal this weekend  ;D
Man City or any other club gets to a cup final, it's common to give a ticket plus one and pay for lunch and transport on what's a very special occasion. Mean act to take that away from regular staff. I think the problems and imbalance of power at OT will not be sorted out by taking Betsy from the canteen down a peg or two.
Bit of unnecessary chest pumping from the man with the new hat. Lets see how he gets on with the real job.

A tory is gonna tory..

Bit of the robber baron approach coming in from Big Sir Jim alright. "Seek other employment if you don't like me unilaterally changing the conditions of your job" generally doesn't go down to well with the rank and file.

Personally find the whole Ratcliffe situation absolutely hilarious and I still have no idea whatsoever Sir Dave is supposed to be doing there. Doesn't look like he's had the squad assessed for their bespoke pillows yet anyway.

Quote from: PMG1 on Today at 02:04:49 AMWhen someone knocks your door you need to remember a few things (1) they have given up 4 or 5 hours of their evening to try to gain vital funds for their club (2) there are few if any grants available for clubs at the minute (3) the cost of building new changing rooms or pitch's at the minute is astronomical (4) clubs have never had as many children (boys and girls) using their facilities and therefore nearly all clubs need more facilities and (5) buying a ticket is only money leant, sometime your own club will need to raise funds for a development and will be knocking at our doors, you could be the one doing that travelling and giving up one or two evenings a week and when this happens what answer would you like to be hearing at the doors

I've no problem with people selling tickets. Being part of a small club abroad with no facilities of our own, I fully understand the constant need to have the hand out looking for support. It's exhausting and soul destroying at times, but everything has a cost.

However, point one above for me isn't an acceptable reason why anyone should feel in any way motivated to buy a ticket or not. It's hard for everyone going round the doors but someone has to do it. Not everyone has 20 or 50 quid to spare ten times over over the course of a couple of months. If people haven't got the money, or don't fancy it for whatever other reason, they shouldn't feel bad about the fact some good spud from a club is out working his hole off.
