When they can't agree on what Christmas decorations to put up at City Hall you can hardly expect our politicians to agree on executive bills!

Joint second anyway as long as it's a victory.  That's the way it works this season apparently... ;)

Help needed in looking for 5 bedroom villa in Orlando, which sites would be best to view, I have googled but way too many to through. If you know any it would be great.

The in laws are taking us away again, they have booked the flights but no Villa yet, so any help would be great

Heading here later in the year and have heard good reports from a work colleague.  Hopefully they turn out grand, they look decent enough anyway.

Regarding the wolves and the bison thing. How was Jeff the camera man so sure the wolves would just run on past? It would have been some TV moment if they had turned on him and the chopper scrambling down to save him!?!

Some amount of bitter Norn Iron men about today.  Couldn't bear to watch the game as they were celebrating from the start in the stands, ole this, ole that. Hope they're stuffed, etc...I think the suicide rate would go through the roof in East Belfast if Ireland done a Greece from a few years back...

Not the first time people haven't gotten your sense of humour you mug!!

Not be the last either.  It's not my issue if people can't appreciate a bit of light hearted humour...

Obviously it doesn't seem that fantastic if you don't get it. I thought it was quite clear that I was being sarcastic but if you couldn't work it out I apologise for misleading you and you can refer back to my last post to see a full explanation...

Oh dear God.  Sarcasm is obviously not one of your strong points.  To make things clear, Cross are probably the best club team to ever play the game. They are not, I repeat not, anything like the Republic of Ireland and their records in major finals.  It was not a nonsense stat, it was a clear message that Cross don't really lose finals.  Tune in hi...

Have cross ever lost an Ulster final?

That's a nonsense stat, sure they haven't played in that many.  It's like saying the Republic of Ireland have never lost a World Cup final...Ermmmm... ::)

McKenna done what I would imagine most players on that pitch would have done if someone who is already booked takes a swing at them ten yards from the referee.  At the end of the day McKenna had the perfect opportunity handed to him to put Ballinderry down to 14 men and he took it.

At the same time, he could well have been booked himself for the niggling that went on after the foul and the kick at the ball between Harney's legs but referee's rarely punish that kind of stuff, especially when a punch is threw straight after it.

On a separate note how the umpires, linesmen and referee missed Wilkinson getting punched on the back of the head when play had stopped after he had just got emptied over the line is a mystery.  He was hit twice as hard as McKenna was although his theatrics might not have been in the same league perhaps explaining why the incident was overlooked/missed... ???

QuoteDeclan,

I would have serious doubts that any prosecution would have been undertaken if the victim wasnt a member of the Garda.

You could be right but I'd hate to think that was the case. I was involved years ago with a very serious incident during a soccer match actually where one of our boys got busted with a head butt - Broken nose, eye socket and a few teeth - A mess. Ref sent the culprit off and we locked him in the dressing room and called the guards. They arrived and the long and the short of it was that they wouldn't prosecute him. Said they'd interview him and put a file together for DPP but at the end of it they doubted if anything would happen - too much paperwork was my impression and it was in the days when the hatchet man was more common than it is now. We got given out to for "restraining him" the injured party wanted to take a case but yer man pleaded poverty etc so basically he got away with it.

It must have been some headbutt (or else the headbutter had a huge head) to cause that amount of damage.

Seriously though, that shite would annoy any man.  How police can fob off situations when they feel like it.  Prime example on the Nolan show yesterday morning.  Some family in the North being terrorised by local youths due to a mixed marriage in the wrong area with over 20 attacks on the house since January including the father getting a beating at the weekend and Matt Baggott refused their application on the SPED relocation scheme to get them out of the area.  DUP man on the phone on some board or other comes on to inform Nolan that an ex police officer was recently moved on the SPED scheme because a man on a motor bike came into his estate and drove around a few times acting suspiciously.  They're some craic.  Apologies for breaking away from the main point of this thread... 8)

Out of interest, the man that struck the player on the pitch with the umbrella - was this during the melee which began on the pitch?  Was there any bother in the stand before this or did it stem from the umbrella strike? If so, you have to say that the umbrella wielding man has a lot to answer.  Granted it seemed to get awfully out of hand afterwards but you can't hit someone over the wire with an umbrella and not expect a reaction.

He probably picked the wrong match to start swinging umbrella's as well to be fair...

Carmen player was taking a sideline ball when the Dromore fan hit him with the umbrella.

Surely the first man that should be identified is this clampit and throw the book at him.  Was the player involved in anything previous or did he just stray into the umbrella-man's personal swiping space?   I can't imagine any sane thinking person would randomly hit anyone with an umbrella while he attempted to take a sideline kick.  I can't help but laugh when trying to picture the scene.  Completely ridiculous...
