Well fair dues to whoever struck that deal.

Dublin GAA's full time marketing and commercial manager. How many counties have one of those on the payroll?

It's obviously paying for itself. So no brainier. Employ someone to find funding/sponsorship within your county..

Success brings opportunities for sponsorship

Wexford hired a full time commercial manager and he has brought in the sponsors and sold naming rights on their ground. Amazing what counties can do when they show some initiative

Yet Wexford aren't getting 1m every year from GAA HQ.

How is that relevant? That's a bizarre statement, even for you. County Boards are allowed show initiative without relying on GAA HQ for all their funding/income

How is that relevant?

It's relevant because other counties have more pressing areas to spend money on in order to try and reach the standards the financial behemoth of Dublin have been setting.

Very, very testy responses when the facts of Dublin's funding is presented to you. So, so much in common with unionists.

Costello red card overturned.  Now I'd love to understand how you can overturn a red card given for something that you said? Its not like you can be cleared by video evidence is it?

clarshack

When was the last time a Dublin player never got a red card over turned?

Very pleased for Cormac's sake. The punishment didn't seem to fit the crime.

You must know what he said then? Care to tell us?

Should it have been a black card only?

When was the last time a county player didn't appeal a red card? The GAA disciplinary system is a joke.

You of all people Angelo are the last person to lecture anyone on facts. Your "facts" on the Covid threads and "facts" regarding the Dublin player's professions are straight of the Donald Trump playbook

You have to admit that its very odd to turn over a red card for verbal abuse though as it cannot be proven to be a wrong call bar a mic picking it up. Very odd indeed and no explanation given.

From the Bunker

The Red for Costello looked a bit harsh at the time. Verbals or no verbals. You have to admit, it will make for a better game his availability. Everyone wants to play Dublin in Croke Park against a full squad available.

You are in the same boat as as The Hill is Blue then. If you believe the punishment for what he said was harsh you must know what he said. Care to share what you know?

No matter what he said you don't want a player missing a game over verbals ffs

Give it a little thought. I am sure you could come up with a few things that might warrant missing a game. If you put a bit more thought you could come up with a few things that would warrant never playing again.

I don't know what he said.

I can only imagine that there is a clear recording that disproves the referee's account or someone has decided that actually the ref and the first people to look at it gave a punishment that was not in line with the offence that was recorded in the ref's report

So verbally abusing an official is ok?
