Yeah i don't think it was down to him "losing the dressing room"!

He was given full support by the club to try and build a team, no matter how long it would take.

But the reason he left was because his Family didn't want to move to Derry, Simple as that.

After Kenny and now Fenlon, probably not many out there that could handle the Derry job now.

Lol, Madmen!

QuoteThere are calls to demolish a major flyover in Londonderry after youths use a sofa to roll down it at speed.

Probably a slight over-reaction to demolish the flyover after this incident!!!

Off course you get the odd person commenting that 'if this this was the gaa' etc carryon. But there lays part of the problem. The council need to be 100pc that this 'private company' can sustain the full project. Even quinn had some doubts in his report it seems. But hopefully it s eventually sorted out.

General discussion / Brandywell plans blown out
May 01, 2007, 11:44:12 AM
Well it seems even mr quinn can't seen to convince derry city council about the redevelopment plans. Seems like there will be blue murder after all the councillors who backed the plans during the election campaign suddenly had a change of heart.

Fair play to the man, he knows how to handle Cup runs!

His record in Cup competitions with Derry was outstanding, and didn't he do the same with longford?

Sorely missed at the Brandywell these days!

GAA Discussion / Re: County Development Squads

Yeah they definitely serve a purpose, i know they've definitely improved a lot of our younger players.

Like Max said, it exposes them maybe to, not so much better coaching, but better players, and helps gets a bit more exposure to county coaches rather than the usual mad trawl at minor level.

I'm sure it helps a lot of the coaches that volunteer too, seeing what a county setup is like.

Surely if they are on a Saturday and U16 games are on Sunday things should work out ok.
I'd worry that this burn-out issue is going to limit football for the 95% of footballers who aren't over worked.

While the minority who are overworked, need to be monitored, it shouldn't restrict the football of the majority!

Had the Usual, Ice Baths,
Musical Events/Fundraisers.
Hurls, Gloves

Biggest problem is still from general internet spamming, with fake accounts being signed up for in the forum, and some spammer using my Domain name as a screen for Spam messages, so i get 100's per day boucing back to me from random e-mails.

Pain in the bloody arse!

Fair enough ref then.

Where was lynch playing? Withdrawn cornerforward or what?

I Assume QUB Had McGourty sauntering around the middle too?
2 players who on their day could turn the game for their side!

Anyone have todays teamsheets and scorers?

Its not gonna be one for the faint hearted.

Heard P Cunningham hit some fine free's today. and in a match like tomorrow, if it descendes into sloggin match on the tight Dub pitch, free's could be crucial.

Who's ref'ing it? hopefully it McAnneney for some comman sense.
Don't want some bollix of a ref ruining it!

Will it not be a bit of a squeeze to fit everyone into the dub?

UCD v QUB in the Q/Final

That'll be a big tie. Queen's won't want to be missing an invitation to their own party!

What are UCD Like this year? they seem to have been overshadowed by DCU so far

Staying in Rabmla de Catalunya last year, great spot just up from Las Ramblas which had the bars and cafe's either side with seating in the middle of the road. Good spot to get food and would be a bit cheaper than La Rambla, and a bit quieter.

Plaza Real just off las ramblas has some nice spots and a niteclub in the corner which is a good place to go.

As someone said the bus routes are the best way around all the sites. But sitting on a open double decker bus all day will be a surefire way to slowly cook youself to death, so bring water and a hat in the high summer!

Barcalona is definately the nicest city i've ever set foot in.

General discussion / Re: Jury Service
February 12, 2007, 05:08:01 PM
got the same this time last year, but was only called for service in Nov time.

I went for 6 weeks, was selected on twice. The first time, i went into the courtroom, and was asked very formally to leave the jury box... Anyone know the reason for contesting Jurors? (The fact i wore i hoddie that day must have helped!)
I gladly left.

The second time, i got called and was selected on the jury, expected to be on the Jury then for the trial, we were sent to Jury room to get organised, we were called back and the guy pleaded guilty.

The whole thing is the biggest waste of money. All that Crap just for the wee bastard to plead guilty.

If you wish to be excused you have to put your case before the judge... plenty did it in my group... very few were successful
