Not at all like previous crass AI football songs.  It has good, humorous lyrics and a very catchy tune.
I really like how the song respectively acknowledges the other 3 semi finalists.

Senegal Jimmy must have been outta Dgl a good while now :) ;)

QuoteTom Potter has done a great job with those boys this year.

He has indeed.

Dereck Davis was a hard act to follow.

Derek deserves gr8 credit.  He hasmaintained close links with Glasdrumman since the Bainistoir exploits 4 years ago.  Two weeks ago he was at the clincher game v's Drumgath.  No mejya ego driving that man.

There was some confusion on this board over the need for play-offs in division three this season, but, according to the Glasdrumman notes on the Hogan Stand, they have already won the league and will be presented with their trophy after the game on Friday night.

Aye, and they will be presented with the silverware this Friday evening after their game with Darragh.  I be there for that one.

Excuse me but. returning to the topic,

I love Cark football, but on this occasion I feel they better beware as the Ulster champs are coming to get them

Thanks be to God (whoever that might be) to have a serious thread on this board. Although I often engage in a bit of fun fishing from time to time to keep me amused.
My thoughts on this are:

1. Donegal have moved on from the boring defensive 2011 game Jim had them playing in his experimental first year.  He has now added a potent attack to the bow and they are now a very entertaining team compared to last year.

2. They are more than entertaining, they are going to be winners and standard setters for the future (mark my words).

3. Bad disgraceful fans are an unavoidable plague in any popular sport.  Nasty People (not fans) who attach themselves to Kerry are can be found in any county.  They just don't understand the real meaning of respect nor the culture of our great games.

They probably grow up on a diet of Celtic type support.  I heard from close friends, newcomers to the game, of  disgusting reports of Dgl fans at the Ulster final.  Its a plague and I don't know what can be done about it - perhaps there is a need for terrace self-regulation i.e let the decent fans offer to the louts a calming word to the wise.  Although I realise the potential danger in this I feel the genuine community spirit of our games will surprise and stun the louts into stopping their crap.  They need to learn that slagging is Ok but abuse is not.

Football this year has taken a stride forward and Donegal are showing the way.  I am sure others will follow.

Proceed with caution. You beat a Kerry team, and that is no mean feat. But this Kerry team are not the of 2009 model or earlier. Your result against Cork will be the standard bearer for the season. I hope you do it.

I am not a "YOU".  I am a proud Down man that suffered at the end of a Dgl hammering.  I think I speak objectively.

Its a good thing really being beaten twice by Cork would have been a disaster. I think the lads are entitled to "do a Tyrone" and sneak out early to recharge the batteries.

Fair dues Mike and well said.

I believe the explanation for a lot of the unnecessary anti-Kerry venom on this and other forums stems from a base human trait called envy.  The Kingdom have what most other counties would love to have even 1/4 off,  namely and big bundle of Sams.
Whilst I love to taunt and play with the Kerry lads there is no disrespect intended.

Donegal abu and keep the Ulster flag flying high.

The Down supporters were a credit today, everyone was so queit with nervousness going into croker today. After they would shake Mayo supporters hands and congratulate them and wish them the best in the semis and of course Mayo fans consoled the Down supporters, knowing all too much how it feels to be dumped out to a huge scoreline. Both were great today. Great performance by the Mayo Lads and let's go and stick it to the dublin jackeens and I hope our Down and Laois friends will be cheering us on :) Come on Mayo!!!! AOS Alan Dillon Andy Moran Michael Conroy Barry Moran Ger Cafferky Keith Higgins and David Clarke played great again

Don't forget the Albanians too.

GAA Discussion / Oh Those Albanians
August 05, 2012, 06:26:19 AM
A terrible result yesterday but this was somewhat compensated due to a chance meeting with a bunch of Albanians who it turned out are mad as feck Down fans.
These guys were great craic, drank like fish and were surprisingly very knowledgeable about the Down team. its players and line out (wee James should watch out for his job).  Knew diddly squat about Mayo though.
They only discovered GAA a few years ago since coming to Belfast and apparently adopted Down as their team because the red and black that matches the colours of their national flag.
Although only a couple of them could speak english we had a great day with them and on the way home they were very complimentary about their first visit to croker.

Now that Down are out they will be throwing their full support behind Mayo.

Thanks Albania for at least one positive memory of an otherwise dismal day.  Some pics on this link.

Jesus, you Down lads are very touchy altogether.

Not so much touchy as, as always super confident, despite our average team and no matter who we play (excepting The Super Cark).

My only worry is that should we win on Sat we will face the Super Dubs not soft Kerry which would have been my preference.

Any way we will give it a good lash and win or lose we will enjoy ourselves.

Be careful what you wish for lad, keep in mind you won't have 25 years of lowered expectation this time. You lads are like Tyrone , you always disappear when there is any level of expectation. We saw that with your choke against Cork.

Hi Mike, angling is such a rewarding sport esp when you hook the species you were targeting.

Its nerve tingling.
In championship football I would expect Down to win 4 outta 5 but ..... coming off such a hiding 6days earlier I am really worried about this one.
Tipp have nadda to loose whereas Down have all the pressure on them.

Fingers & toes are crossed.  Might even become a catholic again and do a novena.
