Excellent article in today's Examiner explaining how our brains play tricks with us when romantic relationships break down and why it's so difficult to deal with. Very brave of this fella to write this, he talks about his own personal experience.

The science behind a broken heart explains all

And it turns out he wears the shades for medical reasons. Just shows you. Judge not lest ye be judged.

Saw Fury last night.

Very Saving Private Ryanesque.  Horrifying combat scenes. A little island of domestic normality halfway through suddenly gets very tense. The biblical theme is laid on a bit thick, but still a good show, if a little far fetched towards the end.

Can't say too much without spoiling it.

It is not an attempt in any way to exonerate the Church to say that the parents failed their children too by neglecting to find out what was wrong

Well it is actually. It's also a vile, evil, disgusting, disgraceful, contemptible attempt to shift the blame onto the victims.

You must be the last person on earth who has the gall to stick up for these sickos and their fellow travellers who facilitated them.

The English language pales with inadequacy in attempting to describe the sheer depravity of what you are shamelessly doing.

Shame on you. Shame on you!

If you don't like them don't listen to them.

Never liked that tune

I preferred the Pet Shop Boys version.

Can I ask for a rule on this thread? No posting of links without telling us what's behind it.

You have a point? And what would that be?

Is it just me or was Mary-Lou being a bit self-pitying the other day? Surely she should have known the rules of the house FFS. People get interrupted all the time by the speaker if they're not following the rules. The whole thing strikes me as a gale in a pail.

GAA managers tend to wear polo shirts, but the manager of the University of Connecticut HC is taking his attire seriously by wearing a suit:

Sharp suit says so much in a GAA world without any frills

I interviewed his brother last year and asked "So... about your suit..."

He answered me with a total straight face and let me know he was taking his job very seriously, said "it's just a way for me to be more competitive." I almost felt bad about asking the question!  At 3:20 here:
