Apparently it was played by mistake before Cork v Clare on Saturday night.

I hope Billy Sheehan wasn't in attendance. Poor fella is confused enough as it is.

Wee Wullie Frazer must have been on the case.  He struggles with the difference between Ireland and Italy bless him. ...

If it had been the German anthem in the Freestate it wouldn't have been out of place at all

Jinxy

If you were any use you'd be playing.

Whatever it was, the good thing about it was that it was short.

Italian national anthem
Amhrán na gCorcaigh

Edit: from balls.ie:
"What came out over the speakers, wasn't Amhran na bhFiann. It was instead 'Old Comrades', track one from the An Garda Siochana marching band CD."

Further fuel for those who say we don't need to be playing the anthem before every game.
If it can't be done respectfully and properly don't bother at all.
We had a poor enough version in the Hyde too but at least it was the right track they played.

We're going to bring home the SAM

Simple mistake lads putting the B side on instead of the A side. Frank Murphy has noted, A for anthem!

Sounded like the royalty-free 1920s mixtape version they have up in Carrick.

Usually get the girl from Strokestown to do the anthem and she does a good job. Don't know why they didn't on Sunday.

I once bought a Frank Sinatra record.

It had "She's leaving me" on the front side, and "I wonder who's kissing her now" on the backside.
Cover me in chocolate and feed me to the lesbians

Aristo 60

and "I wonder who's kissing her now on the backside"

the power of punctuation!

Maybe they heard Jimmy Brokenshire was attending and didn't want to annoy him?
