Hi I am thinking of heading to America later this year, we are hoping to use our mobile phones there. Are there any short term tariffs that we could use? Could we use American sim cards. Or are we stuck with our European phones and very high roaming charges. I understand that we could use Skype etc and wifi but what are my options around basic calls, texts and data?

General discussion / Massive Pile Up on the M5 in the UK!

The reports available on this sound awful. The death toll is going to be very high. As many as 40 people may have died in this accident. Terrible story that will only get worse as we hear the personal stories. RIP.

General discussion / Pop goes Northern Ireland

Reeling in the years for the Northern Ireland. Interesting to see some of the old footage, it might give some of our friends from south of the border an insight as to what it was all about! I wonder if the GAA get a look in.

General discussion / An Image to Dye for?
August 25, 2009, 01:43:27 PM
I would just like to ask the board what their opinions are with regard to men wearing wigs or adding a little bit of 'Just for Men' to the old hair wash. I mean in relation to vainity now not those who may do so for health reasons. This weeks Sunday Game seemed, to the untrained eye to have a lot of colour on show. Cool or just silly?

GAA Discussion / Denigrating GAA players etc.
February 24, 2009, 05:19:33 PM
I have been a reader of this board for a great number of years. I have seen many members come and go. Some great posters have been lost. It has struck me recently that when someone does something wrong during a game the abuse hurled at these people is enormous. In the heat of battle I can understand this; however this abuse on the board has become a disgrace. Most people do not know the people being abused. Can we really comment on someone we have never met someone whom we only know through what we have seen on our TV screens?  I know some of the people who have be named on this board over the last 12 months, many did wrong on the field of play but they are people who I know to be decent people who do a lot for their communities. Are the amateur people who bring us joy and pleasure through our games fair game on a discussion board if they do wrong in the field of play? I am not on about constructive discussion. I mean anonymous abuse.
