Genuinely shocked and saddened by this news. A comedic genius.

This house will become a shrine, and punks and skins and rastas will all gather round and hold their hands in sorrow for their fallen leader. And all the grown-ups will say, "But why are the kids crying?" And the kids will say, "Haven't you heard? Rick is dead! The People's Poet is dead!" And then one particularly sensitive and articulate teenager will say, "Other kids, do you understand nothing? How can Rick be dead when we still have his poems?

No disrespect to the dead but honestly have never heard of this lad before in my life. That cameo at Blackadder's wedding was the only time I seen him on the screens.

Quad accident and made a full recovery tho so unlikely to be related you'd think?   Awful news.  Followed him from Young Ones right through his career.   A comedy genius who making the zany, opinionated,  angry,  character all his own. 

Would have been a brilliant Peter Robinson if the comedy show at Stormont ever became a series!
