It's called the McIlroy rule . . . I mean McIlroy has won 4 majors and is one of the biggest chokers out there apparently so why should DJ get off with it when he's only got one??

"Another major, another Rory McIlroy no-show. It seems like a mental block at this stage"

Major week.

It sounds like a brutal setup at Winged Foot. Straight driving a huge plus.

An 18 handicapper would be raging with that start. The course looks ridiculously hard to be fair.

Yeah the course difficulty has a big part to play, not as if everyone else is going well

Haha maybe should have said an 8 handicapper

The course looks to be getting very tough. Poulter was saying he hates playing in US Opens. McIlroy gives off about courses being too easy so I wonder will he say this is too hard.

With regards to local golf. Are there any of the big courses offering good deals at the minute. I see Portmarnock had an open on there. £400 off for a 4 ball. Still crazy green fees but well reduced, I still wouldn't pay it though. Seriously expensive day out after you factor in the diesel money, food etc. They'll all be missing the money from the rich Americans coming over. Was meant to play a scratch cup at Baltray but the weather was atrocious so I cancelled it. €60 for 18 holes is decent for that sort of course.

Mikhail Prokhorov

double bogey on the 1st for mcilroy  ::)
