Great piece of history tonight.
Took us back to what the LLS was when it was compulsory viewing.
Davy's given us a dream to cling to
We're going to bring home the SAM

Late Late tonight comprised of a series of Guests with Health issues. All sold as good news stories!

Is health now the national obsession?

Has this just become the theme of the Late Late?

Can RTE not attract/afford real celebrities anymore?

It's January.

RTÉ news has been having a health crisis week.
Shock horror - numbers on trollies gone up as more people get sick in mid winter.
Or else Bowers was the only journalist rostered for the Christmas and New Year.

RTÉ is providing a public service by highlighting a disgrace. You wouldn't be sneering if you were on a trolley for 2 or 3 days.
If at first you don't succeed, then goto Plan B

Sean Spicer to appear on the show on Friday. Pity they couldn't have a tough interviewer like Browne or Cooper wheeled in to doi T rather than the fluff from Tubs the children's tv presenter.

No need to expand services in Roscommon Hospital then!

Problems in the Health Service go back to 1987.
2,000 beds taken out if the system then as FF had to "correct" the public finances which they had fckd up between 1977 and 1981.
The population in 1987 was around 3.5 million.
Those beds were never replaced and now the population is 4.6m.
Be lovely to have a major hospital in Ros again but I'm afraid the status of Ros Hospital won't make much difference to the bigger picture.
Meanwhile RTÉ will discover the crisis in A&E every January as more people get sick and doctors surgeries close for Christmas and New Year.....
