Liverpool director Moores resigns

Former Liverpool chairman David Moores has resigned from the board of directors, two years after selling his majority stake in the Anfield club.

Moores, who accepted George Gillett's and Tom Hicks' takeover plans in March 2007, has since spoken of his dismay at how the American duo have run the club.

His resignation follows the departure of chief executive Rick Parry, who quit the club earlier this summer.

Moores will retain his role as an honorary life president.

Gillett and Hicks have become increasingly unpopular amongst the club's fans, who are frustrated by delays over the construction of a new stadium and the use of the club's profits to finance the American pair's £350m loan behind their takeover.

Moores came under criticism in 2004 for his handling of the takeover but received strong backing at the time from club captain Steven Gerrard.

The Liverpool and England midfielder said Moores was "one of the main reasons I stayed at Liverpool" during the period he was being courted by Chelsea.

Point need to learn to battle after going behind, they had a good chance to go clear of island but now its back to square one! Does anyone know when the reserve and premier reserve championships are..since we have so long to wait for the senior one? Must be soon!

big game at the bottom of division 1 tonight! Win for either side would be welcomed greatly, for confidence if anything! However a defeat for l'island could be very detremental to their season as they would be 4 points adrift, and more significantly, still on 0 points! What way do point/island posters feel the game will go?

Senior
Rostrevor 0.5 Mayobridge 2.8
Cathal Magee got 2 goals

2 goalkeepin errors for the two goals. Bridge had Barry sent off in the first half. Weird game, we played well but somehow ended up getting beaten by quite a bit in the end!!

DaddyLongLegs - Castlewellan have a great record against us at home and even with full teams we have lost down there and I like yourself didn't expect a win last night either.  I had a meeting last night and didn't get to the game but spoke to a few people who were at after the game was over and they were raging with the refs performance.  Even the normally mild mannered ones weren't happy.

Wobbler - Sean Featherstone is into Triathons now and doesn't bother with the football at all.

Think this is the answer!!

A gaaboard liquoring session would include the following:
Muppet, Orior, O'Neill, Milltown Row, Drici, Corn02, Kerry Mike, Saffron Sam2, Sidelinekick, Maximus Marillius, Minder, Our Nail Loney, Carmen Stateside, Hardy, Fearon.
Could be missing a few but that'd make some Big Brother house.

What a bunch of w**kers.

hmmcoy would have to be in there for everyone to laugh at  :D
