The draws for the 2018 Sigerson and Fitzgibbon Cup competitions have been made throwing up some intriguing clashes for next season.
In the Sigerson Cup, champions St Mary's will begin their title defence against University of Ulster in Round 1 and the stakes will be high with the 10-team third level competition being played on a knock-out basis.

NUI Galway v IT Sligo
Queens v ITT
DiT v Carlow
St Mary's v UU

Maynooth v UCD

I spent four years in college and didn't attend a single Sigerson match.
The league has been on going since October UL v UCC the final set for next month. St Marys lost every league game while NUIG were showing very well until UCC knocked them out at the semi final stage.

I see Paddy Tally has joined the Galway backroom team but he still keeps his job with Mary's, i'm happy with that.

Sigerson usually throws out some great games - suppose with it being majority younger lads the energy and enthusiasm sometimes overtakes tactical discipline, just a pity about the time of year it takes place, not that anything can be done about it.
Was lucky enough to play a bit for Jordanstown when I was down that direction and will always have great memories of the sigerson, unfortunately I did not make the team however >:( ;D
