We'll be keeping a close eye on shifty sideline skulduggery in Navan.

Might be our only chance.

Last year,Armagh had to return to Laois for the replay,so I imagine Antrim will have to go back to Sligo

Sligo seem to be in the clear.

Similar thing happened in the drawn All Ireland semi-final of 2015 between Dublin and Mayo.
Mick Fitzsimons came on for a bloodied Rory O'Carroll after about 5 minutes. Dublin made 6 more substitutions as technically Fitzsimons remained as a blood sub throughout.

Dublin were just going to stick with 6 subs altogether. But someone got a black card (Bastick I think) with a few minutes to go, and given it was very tight Dubs needed all hands to the pump. Sideline official assured them they could use the 7th sub, so they did.

Nothing about it in the media at the time, even though all the papers listed the 7 subs. Maybe because it was a draw. Or maybe because most people know the rule (I remember at the time being petrified we'd be thrown out as I was sure we'd broken the rule, but apparently not!)

It seems to be a ridiculous rule. There should be a formal way of converting a blood sub to a permanent sub.

Surely Gerry Adams, for the sake of his son, will demand a replay as a condition to reviving Stormont

Maigh Eo v Doire is a forestry issue
Doire should be stronger.

Any idea when we last met Sligo in the championship? I have a vague memory of us playing in the qualifiers sometime possibly under Boylan or Eamon Barry. Doesn't happen often. Before then I don't think our paths crossed in my lifetime.
It won't be the next manager but the one after that Meath will become competitive again - MO'D 2016

I thought it was more recent than that and we got a good trimming in Navan. I wasn't at it but think it wasn't close.

A quick look on Wikipedia suggests we never met in the qualifiers. We played the Rossies a few times. Must have been in the league the most recent games.

25 February 2007, NFL Div. 3 in Sligo may me the last meeting. Meath won - don't know the score.

We met in 2013 in Navan. Was the worst example of our bizarre form of that year, were about 2-9 to 0-3 up before half time. Lost 1-17 to 2-12...

It seems to be a completely ridiculous rule which would potentially open to abuse. Once the blood has stopped, the player should either go back on or count as a sub.

Carew will be on the phone to Ronan Sweeney right away to get whatever tactical advice he can ahead of the Meath game. If Meath aren't up for it they will get caught.

We're planning a two-hour warm-up for this one.
