I think Heath and Ballyfin will go up from Division 2. Park-Ratheniska aren't quite good enough and Courtwood's squad is too small.
Think Emo and possibly Rosenallis will stay up sending Ballylinan and Clonaslee into Division 3.

Laois / Re: The Future for Laois Football

Obviously Billy's not gone yet but it's hard to see how he could be kept on for a third year.
Just saw where David Power stepped down as Tipp manager and I'd say we could do a lot worse than him if we were looking for a new manager.
In Tipp, his hands were always tied by the sheer dominance of hurling in the county. Even then he did a really fine job including that famous Munster title three years ago.

Fuckin hell, Ulster football is dead again
I'd hold no great candle for either of these teams but I still think they're both potential semi-final teams. Hard game to watch though.

Barrowhouse, Annanough and Kilcavan all doing well here and all have brought some good young players through in the last year or two.

Park Ratheniska grab the fourth spot in the top half of Division 2 despite losing to Courtwood.
Ballyfin did them the favour they needed by drawing with Ballylinan.
Emo miss our despite hammering Clonaslee.
Division 1 will be sorted Tuesday night when Portlaoise and O'Dempseys decide fourth spot.

Port, Bally Abbey and Josephs safely in top 4. O'Dempseys or Portlaoise will take the other spot.
Graiguecullen, Stradbally and Killeshin in relegation group with either Portlaoise or O'Dempseys.
Heath, Ballyfin and Courtwood all safely in top 4 in Division 2.
Last spot between Park Rath, Clonaslee and Emo. Rosenallis and Ballylinan will be in relegation play offs.
Mountmellick, Killeen, Ballyroan Abbey second team and Arles Kilcruise going well in Division 3.

What was the applause on 14 minutes for?

That's always in Rafferty's locker.

That's important. You're right. For years now, there has been this mistaken belief that we have the players to do this. We just don't.
Unfortunately true. Realistically for the next few years, I cannot see us do better than possibly getting back up to Division 3 and maybe the odd win or two in the Tailteann Cup.
I've said before here that there are some players out there on the club scene who would probably improve us enough to be Division 3 material but it just doesn't look like it's attractive to young lads to be part of the county senior panel these days.

How are Stradbally going SFSC? Great to see some of them on the Laois minor team, Laois as a county needs a strong Stradbally, Portlaoise etc. It would be great to see a big area like Mountmellick have a few representatives
They looked very well balanced. No stand out guys just all pretty honest. I suppose Eoin Buggie would have been one of the better lads on the night (at least I'm sure it was him!)

I'm not sure why but for some reason I think the Dubs might be in for a fright

I got a bad dose of this before the last Leinster final vs Dublin.

At first I was thinking completely logically and knew that anything less than a 15 point defeat was progress.

Then as the days passed and I thought of the crowds going up, the train, the open space in Croker with good forwards and I started daydreaming of the Dubs getting a man put off,of Cluxton dropping a clanger or 2, catching Dublin out on a short kickout, Dublin being complacent, the moment when Laois Laois Laois lets you know others are starting to believe, a big row that was going to unsettle the Dubs or a cagey lowscoring game with a Seamus Darby moment for the ages at the end.

By the time the match rolled around I was expecting something. A performance. The pints after. The sheer bliss of beating the Dubs.

I know. I know.

I got carried away.

But shur isn't that what it's all about.

We're all allowed to dream.

;)

Sounds exactly like me! I was fully convinced that day by the time I hit Croker that it was 15 v 15 and anything can happen on a given day!

A lot of teams seem to have been short players this weekend for some reason. I think O'Dempseys will be OK come championship time...
Ah yeah hopefully. A few lads will be back but unfortunately a few won't either. Having a few county players is a hindrance rather than a help.

Stradbally quite good Friday night but O'Dempseys look to be in trouble with only 6 or 7 of the county final team togged.

Was the sound on the NY Leitrim game out of sync with the video?
