A song that is creepy.
Happy Birthday Sweet Sixteen - Neil Sedaka

I remember a couple of years ago a man rang in to Drivetime on Radio 2 to get Perfect 10 by the Beautiful South played for his daughter's 10th birthday. Simon Mayo was dumbfounded.
I Need a Little Sugar in My Bowl
Bessie Smith from close to 100 years ago
I'm on Fire by Springsteen is kind of the opposite of this.
It's about unrequited love/lust for a girl who's out of his league but on the surface sounds like an anthem for paedos.
I don't think the song Peaches is about a fruit.
Nor The Cult's song 'Rain' talking about the weather!
Boomtown Rats - I Don't Like Mondays
AC/DC - You Shook Me All Night Long
Mungo Jerry's In The Summertime was a massive hit in 1970 but there are a number of reasons why a major label would be unlikely to release it today. Shaggy changed the lyrics when he re-recorded in in 1995.
In the summertime when the weather is hot
You can stretch right up and touch the sky
When the weather's fine
You got women, you got women on your mind
Have a drink, have a drive
Go out and see what you can find
If her daddy's rich take her out for a meal
If her daddy's poor just do what you feel
Speed along the lane
Do a ton or a ton an' twenty-five
When the sun goes down
You can make it, make it good in a lay-by
Bunch of Thyme by Foster & Allen. When they first played that on TOTP, I thought they were singing about a lad who had a lot of time on his hands. Then I realised, it's not "Time" at all but "Thyme" the herb they are singing about. Upon hearing it some years later, realised it's not even "Thyme" they are singing about and it most certainly wasn't even a rose that the sailor gave the poor lass. To keep her reminded. As if she'd ever forget.
The Beatles, Run For Your Life, is definitely the catchiest song about domestic abuse.
Little Red Corvette DEFINITELY isn't about a car.
Oh Carole by Smokie...she was not 16 if you know what I mean....should been recorded by Gary.

This...
It's a good song but the lyrics on the face of it are a bit paedo-esque alright!

The video adds some helpful context!

Mexican girl by Smokie is a bit suspect too
Juanita came to me last night and she cried over and over
Ooh, Daddy I love you you know and I think it's the moonlight
She looked so fine, well she looked alright and she moaned
Ooh, Daddy move over
Puff the Magic Dragon.
Anything with 16 in the title!
Perfect day by Lou Reed had a darker undertone (drug taking).
What about " We Don't Need Nobody Else" by Whipping Boy
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L2NqJ8t02Y0
Great tune but incredibly dodgy lyrics (in today's context)
I hit you for the first time today
I didn't mean it
It just happened
You wouldn't let me go to the phone
You wanted to make love and I did not
Now I know the distance between us
Christ we weren't even fighting, I was just annoyed
Silence and you started to cry, that really hurt you said
Yeah and you thought you knew me
At the time they were critical darlings, I remember a big article in the Melody Maker praising their honesty. I don't think you would get away with writing a song from the point of a domestic abuser today. I don't know if that is an advance or not, because it is a great (but difficult) song.

Hot Chocolate's 'It started with a kiss' is pretty dodgy if you cut it off here...
It started with a kiss, in the back row of the classroom
How could I resist the aroma of your perfume
You and I were inseparable, it was love at first sight
You made me promise to marry you, I made you promise to be my bride
But you were only eight years old

In fairness, one more line would have made things clear.

We Are Young by Fun is only a few years old. It's about a guy who sees his girlfriend talking to a police officer about a scar he gave to her a few months back.

Nor The Cult's song 'Rain' talking about the weather!
The Cult's 'Go Outside' is a catchy dreamy summer song, but the video, cleverly interwoven with old actual footage of the Jonestown cult, is touching and quite creepy, showing as it does people who would shortly be dead.

I don't think they were talking about their point of view there, to me it is pretty obvious that they are portraying a pretty screwed-up person (and their particular view of their relationship) in the song. Incidentally, they toured that album with Lou Reed in Europe, and Lou Reed thought that they (on the basis of that song) were going to become the biggest band in the world.
A kiss with a fist..... Florence and the machine
I suppose the title says it all but when you're listening to it on the radio and don't hear it introduced

You don't have to listen too hard to find these lyrics dodgy.
