The hurling league (possibly more so division one) was no more than friendlies this year.

And that's the way the top teams wanted it.

The previous iteration of the league at the top level was far more cut-throat with proper relegation etc etc and they went and changed it.

Kids are inspired by sporting breakthroughs  on the field. This is well understood in the Glens. If you want something to be important, make it important.

Whilst Antrim have produced a big result in the Leinster championship, the players and those same kids know their best route to an AI Final is with their clubs.

Club hurling is still king in Antrim.

Could they use div 1 in the hurling league as some championship incentive. Most of the Munster teams are in it anyway. The league is like a mini munster championship. Get rid of this cup that provincial. Before they know it they will have very few games.

Used to happen in Dunloy but seems to have been nipped in the bud. Ridiculous that this was happening.
