Comparing Fawlty Towers to Fr. Ted is like comparing Barcelona to Doncaster Rovers.
time has not been kind to either ,

neither a patch on Only Fool & Horses imo

I think Fawlty Towers and Fr. Ted have much more chuckles in them when you are watching it. OFAH has some of the best individual scenes (Play it Cool Trig), Trigger's brush etc.

Only Fools is probably looked on moreso as genius, because of it's longevity. A bit like Ryan Giggs.

Agree....some of OFAH was pure genius....some was pure dung...but overall the best bits were better than anything I have ever seen.

I started watching Fawlty with the kids a few years ago. I think it is still top notch.

Wasn't Manuel from Barcelona anyway?

If a modern day remake of Fawlty Towers took place I suppose Rafa Benitez would play the Spanish waiter

quit yo jibbajabba

You could play the stupid oul irish f**ker

Zingggggg !!!

Milltown Row2

Watched it tonight on BBC 1. Has never aged and the comic timing is superb... each of the characters had their part in making it great! Manuel was genius
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought. Ea

Faulty Towers is one of these shows people think they have to like, Monty Python was another.

Cunny Funt

Was never a big fan of Monty Python only liked a few bits while all of the Faulty Towers episode was classics IMO a really pity they only ran the show for two series. RIP Manuel.

Part of the genius was knowing when to knock it on the head. Not to rip the arse out of it and ruin it's own legacy. Fawlty Towers knew when to leave it. Only Fools and Ted didn't

Even if Dermot Morgan hadn't died tragically there wouldn't have been any more Fr Ted.

Yes, but they went one series too far anyway.

What kind of weak-minded individual thinks they have to like a show?
