Obviously a bit of shithousing going on here but Errigal do have a serious squad when you consider the amount of county representation they have between youth and senior.

Even if they may get a soft pick or two you have to be a really good footballer to survive in that environment I would imagine and it should obviously improve your game.

They have 7 current panelists. Scratch the surface on that
GK - McAnenley. Despite being 30 odd year old hasnt ever started a game that wasnt Mckenna cup match for Tyrone.
Defence - Niall kelly - managed to start an ulster final due to covid ravaged absences, he hasnt appeared since (despite playing well) he must have max 2 senior championship appearances
Midfield - ben mcdonnell. County panelist for 4 seasons. yet to nail down a place. Has never convinced me. In fact i wouldnt have him near a tyrone panel.
Joe Oguz - 1 mckenna cup appearance.
Ruairi - obviously an absolute star - but he has yet to make his senior intercounty debut
Darragh - exciting player but yet to nail down a starting place in the county side after at least 3 full seasons.
That leaves Peter Harte who is a genuine A lister.

the rest of the panel is hardly something special either. There were no tears on the county thread when aidan mccrory retired, or ciaran mcginley jetted off to the middle east for work.

I think Errigal will win the county championhip, but to suggest they have one of the best squads in Ulster is complete nonsense. This will become all the more apparent when they bump into Slaughneil or Glen Wattys.

I think you could be over critical of their panel. They have come through a difficult side with only playing 1 game of good football. The other 2 games they had to grind out. As for the names mentioned above 5 of them was named on the all Ireland winning panel with 3 of them featuring in the final out of a total 18 players players was it?

Although in saying that, if Eoin McCusker was still about to spring from the bench like what Colm McCullagh done last year i believe it could have been enough to make the difference last 10.

Mulgrew falls into the growing category of someone who's been knocking around the Tyrone panel for 3 or 4 years now and doesn't seem to have improved any. Obviously injury hasn't helped in his case but what is he supposed to be? He's been tried out in the full forward line in a few games without ever giving the impression he can win his own ball and beat his man. And he doesn't seem to have the legs to be a wing forward working up and down.

On Ben, this is now his third year on the panel and I actually think he's an example of someone who has improved. He's carved out a niche for himself within the panel as a spoiler around the middle third, and he tends to keep it simple giving the impression he knows his limitations. He's never going to be a superstar but he's a solid squad player.

Where is Brian Kennedy at the minute? I was hoping this would be a big year for him where he would establish himself as our first choice midfielder ahead of Colm Cavanagh. Last year was his break out year at the age of 21 and he got plenty of game time and showed promise. We should be looking for him to kick on this season

I think there are better players in the county than Ben Mc Donnell and David Mulgrew who are not on the panel.

Yet they are consistently featuring in games for our county team.

Brennan didn't cut it and dropped himself off the panel.
McAliskey and Munroe opted out, was Munroe not in Australia recently too?
O'Donnell must be well in his 30s and is no better than either of those, ditto Nugent and Gallagher.

Have to agree. Whilst mcaliskey, brennan and munroe are good enough they all opted out of the panel themselves. With regards to odonnell, nugent and gallagher none are good enough. Personally think the 2 players in question arent even in the bottom 5/10 of the panel. They may not be starters but they are good team players who are holding their own when we have a lot of our key men injured. Mulgrew was very good underage and had made a great start to his senior career before injuries having scored 2 goals in croke park against armagh a few years back.

Tattyreagh vs edendork - edendork narrowly
omagh vs dungannon - dangerous one for omagh - dungannon going well- might go with dungannon
carrickmore vs derrylaughan - tough one ill go with a draw
pomeroy vs newton - Pomeroy eventually to pull away comfortably at the end
galbally vs strabane - Galbally - easy

McShane always plays around the middle anyway? so McClure could pull the short straw then? keep Richie and McShane?

I think RON has proved what hes capable off enough over the last few games. Woudnt have beat meath or cavan without him probably.

Getting increasingly concerned about cork as the week goes on and closer to the match...

They did the same thing against Coalisland a couple of years back & against Cookstown in a minor semi final that's three times in about 5 years - very dubious

It happened last year was it against coalisland in ardboe start of the league? Genuienly couldn't see this being planned, seems too far fetched. I'm sure ardboe will try fulfil the replay later in the year when tyrone season is over so that they have M Cassidy and DD Mulgrew back playing. I suppose only fair when playing against galbally who lose no players anyway.

Believe it or not... Still a decent chance of making an AI semi final, and that's a game that could go anyway on the day. Play cork which is achievable. then play rossie/Armagh which is also achievable. Then 3rd game Donegal is also achievable (although in ballybofey it could be a struggle) when was the last time tyrone beat Donegal in ballybofey? but its doable all the same. Then Kerry/galway most likely in an All Ireland semi final. Extremely tough but on championship day could go anyway.

And they play England in the final because they are already there too

And beat the Dubs in Omagh?? Just got back up on my chair there. This Tyrone team are average at best right now. MD & PH are no leaders/captains. They go missing for too long and NS is by far the best player Tyrone has. Stop him, Stop Tyrone (which isnt too hard cause the rest are playing poorly)

The GAA have gone to hell. The prices they charge for an event in HQ is unreal. We had a function there last year and it was the Ryanair model of business. Everything you wanted was extra.

Petey Harte reminded us what he's capable of last weekend with those jinking side stepping runs he did for the goal last week. I'd like to see McClure be given a run at MF and not keep changing all the time. Players need a bit of a run and belief that they won't always get pulled off if they're not at the top of their game.

I am more confident in Mickey oneill to be honest. Tiarnans fitness is questionable at the minute and since hes been back from injury has actually  missed a few shots, more than what he has scored anyway. Maybe it could be best leaving him out of the squad? who do you drop? Meyler? his work rate would be one of highest although may not contribute the most? Petey done very well for the goal, didn't realise how good it was until I seen it on a facebook video.

As we are approaching the weekend. Whats peoples verdict on the outcome and possible starting team? Where does tiarnan McCann fit in, if at all? does D McClure play? Which keeper will MH go with this time? Is Bradley or brennan anywhere near it?

Surely Strabane has to be up there with the best. 2 full size pitches (both unreal surfaces, one with great floodlights) and 2 youth pitches. An outdoor ball wall, 8 changing rooms and ample parking. Clubhouse with bar overlooking the pitch although definitely missing a stand but the grass bank allows for a great view. If not for geographical location would host a lot more championship matches.

Ample parking for a division 1 championship match?
New changing rooms are a great job. Pitches usually are in good condition. Could do with a stand and concrete steps. Could possibly host smaller championship matches from division 2 or 3 with teams that don't have as big of following or interest?

That's always a danger also when playing a lesser team. Would like to know more about the preseason friendly between the two now.

Carlow gave monaghan a tight run last year. No bad team. still think tyrone will scrape through but will be no hammering match or walk in the park. I think most teams would be the same except Dublin maybe.

Obviously Omagh is one of the best in Tyrone.

Considering Everything, Changing Rooms, Quality of main pitch and Training field, gym facilities, stand/surrounding grounds, parking etc.
Killyclogher isn't bad 2 good pitches good gym changing rooms and stand.
Donaghmore has good changing rooms about the height of it. bad pitches, stand is small car parking limited.
Dromore has good setup in terms of pitches and main field is in good shape and with a 3g. In massive need of new changing rooms.
Edendork in need of a stand. Club house facilities are brilliant, main field is ok. Have they another training field?
Coalisland is not bad. New big hall built club house is decent with a good gym. Pitch is tempermental but can be good.
Errigal have a good setup, club house is very good with good gym, parking is ok for league games but championship games can struggle. 2 good pitches and stand.
Carrickmore needs work done to training fields as they are in very poor condition. Club house needs completely redone. Stands and main field very good and can have a cracking atmosphere. Parking is well managed.
