Hurling Discussion / 2014 - Ins and outs
November 13, 2013, 07:09:16 PM
This thread could be used to provide a list of up and coming talent for the 2014 season as well as those who have left the scene.

There has been a good boost for Cork today with the news that Aidan Walsh is set to join up with the Cork hurlers. I wonder will Cadogan join him.

Any early news for this one?

See Clare have already held their press night, very early. Davy must be trying to keep the hype to a minimum.

Any chance of Paudie O'Sullivan or Brian Murphy being back? One or both of them would be a great boost to the Cork bench.

Excellent opportunity for both counties to reach an All Ireland final on the first weekend in September. It's a long time since either team has been involved in one (Hurling)

Paul Ryan has been having an excellent season for the Dubs, however I feel both Shane O'Neill and Conor O'Sullivan would be well able for him.

Conal Keaney at right half forward has a good enough chance in William Egan is on him, although Egan has been good all season. Breen caught a few balls off him in the Munster final and Daly may look to exploit him. Kenny could maybe pick him up.

If Kearney shows the same form as he did yesterday then I can see Cork just shading it in Midfield.

Peter Kelly has again been excellent this season and may pick up Horgan, if Cork can put the ball low in front of their full forward line they could fare well.

Dublin very strong at CHB, so Cork will be looking for Harnedy, Lehane and co to move Rushe about as much as possible and stop him from dropping deep in front of Horgan.

Cork by 2.

General discussion / Giff Gaff

Anyone aware of the pros and cons of the mobile phone network Giff Gaff? It's meant to be very cheap from what I know.

Renewal of one of the greatest rivalries at inter-county level during our lifetime. Cork on the way back with a lot of younger players all over the pitch, strong performance v Tipp in Munster but have not been the most convincing since that game with wins over Offaly and Wexford. Waterford scraped past Clare in Munster and put up a good performance v Tipp in Munster final.

I feel JBM will have that bit extra up his sleeve for that game, and will benefit from an extremely strong bench. If Cork can sort out their key defensive positions then I can see them going on to meet Galway in the semi final.

Big game for Cork I feel, if they get through this one which I believe they will they will be back in an All Ireland quarter final, if they avoided Kilkenny at that stage they could be looking at a very successful year, having already made the league final. However, all ifs and buts at this stage, looking forward to a good game. Any injuries picked up from win over Offaly? Any news from the Wexford camp?
