Yet another magnificent display from Sexton, he is carrying the mantle of the pressure position with impressive authority.
Is that type of collision allowed in Rugby the one that winded O'Driscoll, just after he passed the ball?
I saw no attempt to tackle by the Welsh giant, just intent to clatter and take out O'Driscoll, leading with the shoulder straight into the chest, with the force of a 2 ton truck at a time when O'Driscoll was most vulnerable.

No, he's supposed to wrap his arms around his opponent. The fact that he didn't probably contributed to him getting hurt.

What is it American sports fans love so much about snowbound football matches? The thought of one has them buzzing.

Consider yourself educated ;)

I'd heard about the Ice Bowl. Are you saying all the hoopla whenever there is snow on the radar is attached to that one game?

Not JUST that one game, but that's certainly the most famous example. I remember watching an absolute cracker about 5 years ago between Green Bay and The Giants in the snow- an NFC Championship game I think.

Just want to add my thanks to AZ for organizing, and well done to everyone who competed all year and kept the leagues competitive right until the last day- some great playoff races!

I thought the book was overrated just because of the unusual structure.

Jesus. Thought I was gonna be there or there abouts with a decent score put up but then I looked at my opponent's team and... HOLY JAMAAL CHARLES!

Definite mutual respect between the two lads. Keane definitely has a serious axe to grind with Fergie- even the lads he left out of his team: Giggs, Scholes, Neville- All Players who never really clashed with "the manager".

Final standings in the Walter Payton. A tad lopsided.

John Madden Division
*2     Crossmaglen Hitmen    7-7-0    5-3-0    1820.85    1775.70    L-2    9    54
7     Big Apple Orchards    6-8-0    3-5-0    1566.17    1760.46    W-3    4    1
8     L'Esprit de Biff    5-9-0    5-3-0    1743.93    1812.64    W-1    3    30
9     Faithful Turfmen    4-10-0    4-4-0    1725.12    1834.11    L-3    2    22
10     The Curragh Rams    3-11-0    3-5-0    1681.09    1942.52    L-1    1    11

George Allen Division

*1     Ruthless Rossies    10-4-0    4-4-0    1990.62    1690.89    W-1    10    41
*3     Savage Bears    9-5-0    3-5-0    1880.43    1790.71    W-3    8    47
*4     Royal Badgers    9-5-0    5-3-0    1851.50    1772.61    L-3    7    23
5     Caught Red Hernandez    9-5-0    4-4-0    1811.88    1727.45    L-1    6    42
6     Galway Bay Tribesmen    8-6-0    4-4-0    1860.88    1825.38    W-3    5    50

Gutted. Lost out in the last day with a big loss to the Rossies. Hard to swallow when there's such a big disparity in the divisions, but rules is rules!

Great man, and a great loss, but some of the people waxing lyrical have short memories as others here have already alluded. I saw this earlier and thought it was great...

The finish in the Payton Chanpionship has gone down to the wire too. One division has 3 teams at 9-4, one at 8-5, and nobody with a losing record. The leader in the other division is at 7-6, is the only team in the division with a winning record, and is the only team guaranteed a playoff spot!

GAA grounds would need serious facelifts though imo.

My biggest concern is that a point would be reached where the IRB will say "yeah, you have a chance but some of the grounds look a little grotty for a global audience". Before we know it the meeja and the politicians are denouncing the GAA for not spending its own money to bring the grounds up to scratch for reasons that are of no direct use to the GAA but are very much In The National Interest.
Since when did rubby become our National game? that we're all supposed to fall over backwards to accomodate them to have their "World"( yeah right) Cup.
In the immortal words of Jack Boothman " Tell them to feck off".

I don't think anyone's saying it's the national game! The economic boost, particularly to the construction industry would be great, and it might help bring some of those forced to leave the country home. That's no bad thing.

Any fans of David Kitt on here?

I was a fan back in the day - Small Moments and the Big Romance albums - went to see him a few times in Belfast and still stick on his music from time to time!

The Big Romance is a great album.

This Incognito buck with the Dolphins appear to be some lowlife. If the reports are true, he'll not play NFL again, and deservedly so. Always nice to see a bully taken down!

Agreed. Some teammate! I hope Martin can get back playing and get over this.

Unfortunately I'd say Martin is unlikely to be very welcome in an NFL locker-room either.
