I saw him with Pearl Jam at the RDS in 1995.  Full rock-out

I wouldn't be a massive Neil Young fan but got into him around the time of his MTV unplugged (incidentally Nirvana's absolute classic was around the same time).  Anyway my 3 favourites would be:

Like a Hurricane
The Needle & the Damage Done
Rockin' in the Free World

I'd agree.  3 songs is limiting.  Perhaps you should've asked which album is your favourite? I own about 15 & would say Highway 61 Revisited.  I don't proclaim to be an expert either..

I want You
Idiot Wind
Like a Rolling Stone

and best cover version is a little known song called She's your Lover now done by former Buzzcock Howard Devoto's Luxuria

I haven't listened to their new stuff. I tend to stick with the classics.   I must rectify that.  The recommendations are noted.  Cheers

Anodyne, dull, instantly forgettable. Remove their entire catalogue from the annals of music and nothing changes.
Anyone that was at Slane in 95 to see REM knows how good they were, one of the best gigs inwas ever at. Everybody hurts was amazing. With campfires lit at the back. Long beofre mobile phones. I've seen them a few times. Great band with great songs.
Supported that day by Oasis.

I was at this gig too.  Legendary

I think REM would more highly rated than Sheffield Wednesday although I do agree with your Waddle assessment. Keane would be the LoI's best, Dalgish Liverpool's.
