Bensalem should have come on for his run in the Cleeve Hurdle and could be a decent proposition amongst lesser company tomorrow.

Day Of A Lifetime has to be the one bet today surely?

Oops, Non Runner!
There's Seán Brady going in, what dya think Seán?

On a side note are Kildare a fair price to dispose of us in Newbridge today/

Donnellys Hollow

Only a stone bruise. Should still be ok for next month.

I wouldn't be too keen on backing Kildare. We've a rookie full-back line out and I'm sure Derry will have revenge on their minds after last summer. The odds look about right to me.

Was passed info on some nag called wymott which is supposedly Cheltenham bound and considered to be a "certainty", as if there is such a thing at the festival.
Anyone know anything about it ?

Nice horse. Bit of a dour staying type. Has won a few soft races around the gaff tracks in England. He wouldn't be my idea of a bet in the RSA at 12/1 but I wouldn't put anyone off having an e/w bet on him either.

McCain has a strong hand for the festival this year. I'd be very interested in Storming Gale if he goes for the three mile novice on the Friday.

Runs tomorrow at Carlisle.

Been having a look at the Gold Cup trends.
Quote
RACE TRENDS:

    * 11 of the last 13 winners had been placed at the festival before
    * 9 of the last 19 winners were second season chasers
    * 10 of the last 11 winners had all won a race that season
    * The last 10 winners were in the front three in the betting
    * 10 horses priced 33/1 and bigger have been placed since 1997
    * 64 of 66 horses beaten in the race before since 1994 have been beaten again. The only exceptions are Kauto Star and a carried-out See More Business
    * 16 of the last 17 winners were aged between seven and nine
    * No horse older than ten has won since 1969
    * The last six year old to win was Mill House in 1963
    * Only one horse since 1963 (Dawn Run) has won with less than six runs over fences

All the market leaders appear to fall foul of these statistics.

Kauto Star, Denman and Imperial Commander are too all old at 11, 11 and 10.

Long run is only 6.

Diamond Harry doesn't seem to have enough experience over fences (only 4 runs over the bigger obstacles and was pulled up in last year's RSA). Neither does Pandorama although he is only 1 short of the magical 6 runs over fences.

Kempes has never placed at Cheltenham, having run disappointingly in the Supreme Novices in 2009 (As a patriotic Armagh man I'd him backed!)

Midnight Chase appears to tick a good few boxes but surely this is too much of a step up in class?

So which statistics will hold true and which are lies, damned lies?
