If only people were as passionate about Irish politics as they are about American.

Posters living in America posting about American politics shocker

US two party politics are nasty and divisive as it's now the norm to pick a side and irrespective of what they do or don't do you stick with them no matter what, defend them to you're blue in the face or engage in whataboutery..

A good bit like NI in fact

Yes. They give them out free at the George Soros-sponsored adenochrome-harvesting-from-kids research symposiums.

Irish politics is mostly about bread and butter issues, with not much widespread deviation from a fairly centrist mean.

US politics has one side mostly in the mainstream of western, secular politics, and the other off in an irrational cloud cuckoo land fantasy which would be amusing if it wasn't so influential and, thus, dangerous.

Couldn't help yourself could you?
Hes not far wrong though is he? The dems in any other western country would be considered a right of centre party. Thats how far the right has shifted in the states.

Democratic Senatorial candidate pulled a gun on a black jogger

Now if that was a Republican......

He would be the subject of a story in The NY Times last February??

It would have been an issue in an earlier electoral race?

Trump Junior would have tweeted about it?

It will absolutely be brought up in next year's campaign?

I don't know. The GOP primary base doesn't seem to be the types of people who would have much of a problem with what Fetterman did. Nor does the right wing media. Or Trump.

And that is pretty much all that matters to those running to be Republican candidates these days.

It's an insane thread, the content is utter bullchit. I particularly find the posters on the left abhorrent, whilst the posters on the right ain't much better. Its adds nothing to the board, better off deleting it.

"Abhorrent" ffs.

Catch yourself on.

GMAC look this over and then try to put a little more perspective into your posts about who's spreading CoVid.
I think you could go a long way to curing that Biden tick you have with a long walk on Windy Hill. I believe I have already suggested this therapy to you. I guess you may not have tried it.

1.   OPEC dramatically reduced production last year when the pandemic started. They've been slowly increasing it of late. Biden wants them to get back to pre-pandemic levels more quickly, so that some of the current pressure due to steadily increasing demand is taken off the prices of petrol etc. One would have thought the likes of yourself would be cheering this?

2.   Not that it would necessarily be a bad thing (different debate), but where is the evidence that Biden has reduced US oil production? According to the linked data (up to May of this year), it went down briefly in February, but has climbed right back up and is now above where it was last year and is increasing. In fact, the only time over the past 25 years it was higher than the figures reported for April and May was in 2019 and 2020 up until the start of the pandemic.  https://tradingeconomics.com/united-states/crude-oil-production#:~:text=In%20the%20long%2Dterm%2C%20the,according%20to%20our%20econometric%20models.

3.   Now doubt you're sore, for whatever reason,  that Biden is pulling the US back from the "drill everywhere, no matter what (except for the Florida coast)" policies of the Trump administration, but even with the breaks put on Trump's "fire sale" of public reserves, the oil companies have a huge quantity of leases still to work on; 14 million acres in the west, 9 million acres offshore, and 7,700 unused drilling permits, with new permits for existing leases still being approved. Production is increasing both on federal lands and offshore. I understand you won't hear this info from your hysterical "news" sources, but if you're really interested in this issue and not just hit-and-run point scoring in the hope no one will bother their arse to respond, ten minutes on Google would open your eyes a wee bit.

4. Inflation will continue until global supply chains are fully up and running again. You do understand this, right? Is it Biden's fault that the price of second-hand cars went through the roof in the spring because of the chip shortage affecting supplies of new cars?

I'm saying you can't be serious about covid and mandates with the current situation at the southern border . It should be closed and everyone told not to come here and to go home . Is that a right wing perspective?
If it is we are not in a healthy place.

Well that's a point you could debate and have a somewhat intelligent discussion about.

Wild, unsupported assertions about the border being a superspreader event and the cause of the current surge in Florida and the Mississippi valley is not.
