Or you can't be stopped if you're already inside the paid Croke Park bubble. I expect no change to the status quo.

Captain Obvious

Hopefully Mr Ryan is his own man and the decisions he makes in the years ahead are not influence more by money and profits than common sense.  As the former director of finance I have my doubts if he will do that though.

Director of Finance gets the job. Reinforces my belief that money is the prime driver in the GAA today and all decisions are viewed through a prism of bottom line impact.

+1

trileacman

A Dublin club member and former director of finance, ffs, you'd think the GAA was trying to destroy my faith in them.

He might do perfectly ok. Let's see.

Oh ffs. Wake up and smell the coffee.

It a very reassuring appointment, wrong signal appointing a money man.

trileacman

A reinforcement of the status quo. He's the director of finance so he's been running the GAA for the guts of 5 years now anyway, this appointment has just been his de jure coronation.

That's the "end of the GAA as we know it " it seems.
Such negativity.
When did the GAA not try to maximise their income?

Is Rossfan a wee bit innocent?

manfromdelmonte

I hope the first thing he does is impose some financial control on the GPA

Seany

Some utterly ridiculous stuff here towards a man who hasn't even started his job.  Tom Ryan is more than a GAA paid employee, he is also a great GAA volunteer and is totally committed to all aspects of the GAA.  He is a brilliant appointment.

Jinxy

If you were any use you'd be playing.
