Yes, they're sensitive to questions!"

Shamrock Shore

The Vincent Brown one the other night was excellent as was last night's George Hook.

Main Street

George Hook is much funnier in the real.
I have seen a few of their sketches after the World cup coverage, it all looks very corny to me, playing the same old record/formula, that was funny once upon a time.

They take the p%ss out of everything. And watching dunphy and co it is all ridiculous in the first place.

I love their Brian Lenihan impression. And the skits with the English accents are really top class.
There are very few TV channels anywhere running this sort of thing.

I don't know about the Sky Sports characters, but the recent skits during this World Cup on the Irish sports panelists -  Brady, Stapleton, Giles, Hook were bland,  those sketch characterisations ran out of milage a long time ago and would need a good gag or punchline to keep it alive.  It was funny once upon a time.

I guess thats why they turn to Sky Sports, which I suppose can work for some because of the Irish obsession with things English.

The flip side of that argument is that Bill n Eamonn n Johnny have been doing the same routine for over 20 years and have flogged it to death. I doubt there is any other programme on RTE that has had the same crew for 20 years. Other than the Angelus.

At least the Angelus had a facelift, 10 or so years ago.
