I saw this on twitter - absolutely mystifying.
Surely it's photoshopped, but even then the person who did it knows what they were at....

Imagine if the lad's name was Andrzej Obalek and he had caused the death of Ed McCarthy

Thank you The Boy Wonder and Blowitupref for providing some information to this thread.
As someone living overseas, I used to use this board to find out information about what is going on at home, to be somwewhat infomed when talking to family and friends.
Unfortunately, the nonsense that used to be confined to a couple of posters or a couple of threads has spread to infest the majority of the entire board, so I am rarely on here anymore.
Lads creating bogeymen from social media that they can argue with on here, without anyone actually putting forward the viewpoints that are being vehemently shouted down.

Quote from: dec on February 11, 2024, 06:50:01 PMThere has been a losing bonus point awarded in all the games that didn't involve Ireland. A losing bonus point was never really on in either of Ireland's games.

And Wales v Scotland is the only 4try bonus point except for Ireland's 2

Quote from: dec on January 24, 2024, 02:50:32 PMRoy Keane: Former Man Utd captain says Republic of Ireland job would 'appeal' to him

https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/68074065

Roy Keane said managing the Republic of Ireland would "appeal" to him as the former Manchester United captain spoke about possibly returning to management.
The Republic are in the process of finding a new boss following Stephen Kenny's exit in November.

Keane, 52, was part of Martin O'Neill's Republic coaching team between 2013 and 2018.
"International football, I enjoyed it when I was a coach," Keane said on the Stick to Football
YouTube show.
"I liked the dynamics of it where you're not in every day and it's not about bringing players in and dealing with the board every week or the academy. Yeah, that [international football] does appeal."
Keane, who has not managed since leaving Ipswich in 2011, added: "I did enjoy the dynamics when I was coaching with Martin with the Irish team.
"We had a little bit of success and when you've had a bit of success then it's brilliant, but obviously there are disappointments.
"So yeah, that could be an option." ...

Lol, I listened to that podcast. They were talking to Frank Lampard (and Stevie G), basically about how it would be hard for them to get a route back to management and gently 'suggesting' that Lampard look at ambassador roles etc.
It was raised as a hypothetical point to Keane... not a full time position etc... and he dodged the question once, but then conceded that yes, it would be appealing.
They literally laughed that - That will be the headline now - "Keane says RoI job would appeal to him"
FFS 'journos' have no shame

GAA Discussion / Re: Best score ever?
November 14, 2023, 01:35:09 PM
Quote from: Lucifer on November 14, 2023, 10:02:09 AMI'm surprised we've got this far without acknowledging that Beggan was actually launching it into the square!

I saw Eoin Donnelly do similar a couple of times for Fermanagh, and I was never quite sure if he was shooting or not either.  Personally for me, it either needs to contain individual flair/skill or be a fantastic team score.  A one off shot whilst often superb, is pretty common.  I can think of similar scores from my own club men over the years.  But when I look at some of the scores from Canavan, Clifford or Matt Connor, you don't see that replicated  much at all because of the level of skill, balance, poise, composure etc.  I'm sure there are others too.

*Please don't post that James McCartan point v Derry where he runs 40 steps like a little terrier, it's an amazing feat of tenacity but doesn't belong here!

Exactly! He puts the fist up in the air to signal what he is planning. Don't think it can be the best score ever if it wasn't even meant to be a score

Quote from: general_lee on November 06, 2023, 12:56:30 PMQuite compelling that there are relatives of holocaust survivors out protesting against Israeli genocide in solidarity with the Palestinians.

Not all (non Israeli) Jews  are pro-Israel. Miriam Margoyles has repeatedly called out Israel  numerous times for their treatment of Palestinians.  Maybe it takes non-Israeli Jews to think outside the box  instead of those in Israel who are  brainwashed  by their psychopathic overlords.

Israel's actions will only increase the animosity  towards ordinary Jews worldwide though. Even if they are pro-Palestine

Exactly.
Sadly, as a result of the Zionists that shout 'anti Semite' at every criticism of Israel, many people are conflating Jewish / Zionist

Quote from: imtommygunn on September 25, 2023, 10:35:52 AMThe womens seasons don't overlap either so they can do both.

They changed the AFLW season - clubs start pre-season training at the end of May.
The season starts the week the AFL has their pre-finals bye, first weekend of September with the grand final on 3 December this year, so some players may become available in early November if they don't make finals.

There were some great posters.

Easytiger
Hardyarse
Bummer
Bud
AZ Offaly
Muppet as well
Some morphed into other posters. Bummer had a new handle. Hardyarse got shortened.

Always wondered about AZ. Was a really good, prominent poster who just seemed to drop off.  I  often wondered was it self imposed or did something happen them.

AZ still looking down on us, afaik
