I see the bbc 5 day forecast for Belfast has unbroken sunshine for today whilst others are giving out severe weather warnings; good to see the licence fee being used well.   ::)

Centre evacuated after flooding

There were floods on the Ormeau Road in 2005
Heavy rain has seen the evacuation of an east Belfast shopping centre.
Connswater Shopping Centre has been flooded, with reports that water poured through ceiling vents. Members of the public have been moved from the centre.

There are also reports of flooding on the Ormeau Road and the Annadale Embankment.

Earlier, Met Office forecasters predicted a period of exceptionally heavy and prolonged rainfall later this week.

Many places will see further rain but the worst affected areas are likely to be Northern Ireland and northern parts of England, where rainfall totals over a few days may be close to the monthly average for June.

In 2005, Ormeau residents had to be moved from their homes following heavy rain, which overwhelmed drains and mixed with sewage.
