Leader Cup Final:

Sorry. Where are my manners?

Congrats again to the boys and girls of Mullinalaghta. The double. Fantastic achievement.

Rhode got rode by Vincents yesterday. By all accounts Mullinalaghta gave Vincents a much better game of it.

Anyone else hear the UN have been called in to oversee the aftermath of a Div 2 minor final between Granard/Ballymore and Laygan/Carrickedmond/?

All sorts of crowd thuggery (allegedly) and Gardaí now involved in an investigation as it seems young players were seemingly assaulted by adult supporters.

Can't have been that serious when the Leader didn't have a report on it.

Well, I suppose it's that time of year again...
Wash, rinse, repeat...
And around comes the rough beast of the Longford Senior Championship for another year.

Same time, same schedule, with Group 3 starting this weekend:

Granard v Killashee, Killoe, 7pm Saturday
Fr Manning Gaels v Ballymahon, Ardagh, 7pm Saturday

Colmcille get an extra week's fine-tuning.

Yes - I found that very strange - perhaps they didn't have any of their reporters there.......sorry.....what did you say? REALLY?

Clonguish are the dark horses, all right, Shamrock, but yis are not that bad. Sure we beat Killoe by more than we beat ye  ;)

Slashers ran Garrycastle very close in a challenge last week and are not to be underestimated either.

Mostrim 3-11
Clonguish 1-14

Two late goals seal a surprise win for the underdogs.

That said, Mostrim did gift Clonguish's goal.

Davy Barden saw harsh two yellows it seems. Good to see him still annoying refs.

For the record yesterday's win by Mostrim is our first ever over Clonguish in the championship.

Ever!

Good luck the Mullinalaghta Midges against the Slashers later.

A Mostrim v Mullinalaghta final is not now a pipe dream  ;D
