At the College Fields, Moy Road, Armagh.

Do you know that for definite Exile? This came up for discussion in the Club one night (that photo adorns our Committee room). There is a substantial building, on the same level as the team, behind the trees in the photo. That would make it unlikely to be the College fields. It seems to be on high ground somewhere -possibly the Convent grounds in Armagh City?

This picture was taken in the grounds of St Brigid's School, where the county team trained in 1977. It is near the back entrance to the school, with St Catherine's College in the background. You can see the top of the wall which runs along the road leading to the Nursery Road.

Poor display by Armagh both on the pitch and on the sideline. Fact is, Armagh haven't played much better than this up to now and progressed due to the poor opposition. It's necessary to score heavily when dominating games and Armagh's game plan doesn't allow this to happen. We were tactically naive and got punished for it. The blanket defence has become so predictable that most teams are now able to cope with it. We need a game plan of attack other than hanging the responsibility on Clarke and McDonnell every game. Had we controlled midfield or coped with Wexford's goalkicks I could accept some criticism of this view but the truth is we have struggled in both these areas all year and got found out. McGrane was immense again today but I find it hard to understand why he is asked to cover so much ground at this stage of his career.

Would Paul Grimley's craft on the sideline have helped us this year?    -    of course it would.

See you again next year!!

QuoteBut he plans to return home in time for the Kingdom's opening defence of their Munster title against either Waterford or Clare in June.

It's amazing how you boys get out of Munster every year against top class opposition like that!

Hopefully this is their most brutal game this season - anything worse would be incomprehensible!!
Stevie, Andy and Paul watching from the sideline must have found this painful.

Without doubt Armagh are a better side than on show today, but I wonder what McDonnell saw today to enlighten him. Perhaps playing a few more experienced players may have allowed us more possession and an opportunity for the new boys to shine even a little. The surface on the pitch didn't help either.

Cross might have benefitted more with this as a competitive run-out on their way to another All-Ireland!!!

Sorry to see him go. Nothing worse than a string of managers winging out the cliches. Unfortunately Ferguson has now joined that band and hasn't the will to be thoughtful and individualistic in his post-match comments anymore (and won't even speak to BBC).

Mourinho was a class act, winding those who needed wound up in the process.

Mourinho wanted to be the Star - bigger than any of his players - he was entertaining at first, which to a degree excused his boring style of play, however, the Premiership will not miss him nor his whinging. His team, despite being loaded with the world's best, played a boring brand of bland football which eventually led to Abrahmovich and many Chelsea fans voting with their feet.

So long Jose!!!

BORING, BORING  CHELSEA - George Graham's Arsenal were better to watch than the current Chelsea - for some people winning is everything, but obviously not the thousands of Chelsea fans who stayed away from the CL match on Tuesday night.

This was no surprise!!!
