In last years minor final, the Galway team at numbers 1-9 hurled brilliantly clearing ball after ball and setting up their forwards, not really giving the Kilkenny foorwards a look in. However the Galway forwards couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo so Kilkenny got a 3 goals and squeaked home for an undeserved win. Unjust is a bit over the top though. Hiroshima and Nagaski was unjust, Kilkenny 3-6 galway 0-13 was just unfortunate.

I get the feeling that the Corks/Tipps etc are becoming very upset with all this Kilkenny dominance and are taking any and every chance to get a cut at them.
Mulcahy was at it too ...his immediate comment when Benny Dunne did his beheading was to ask " what happened just before that"?

What happened before that incident wasn't relevant at all. Loughnane was at it as well. He said that Dunne swung because Tommy Wlash, like the rest of the KK defence, goes up with one arm and the other arm is used to hold or rip at the helmet of the opponent.
More broad brush shite from Loughnane.

And did ye ever hear anything like the 2 hurling snobs (Mul and Ger) cutting the nose off Squirrel when he dared mention that refs might use the rule book.  ::) ::) ::)

Thus was a great game of hurling from 2 great sides. Scoring was fantastic.

After 8 minutes on the board I tihnk the score was 1-5 to 1-4, 11 scores in total.

Great skill levels.

Galway were the better side no doubt.

well done to Galway. Great game and thoroughly deserved victory.

In contrast to the senior game which was still scoreless after 5 minutes, the minor game was about 1-5 each at that stage. That intensity couldn't remain, and didn't, and it became a real attritional battle. Galway just made so few errors on the day and that told. Kilkenny made poor pass and shot selections, and the lack of discipiline (though not fully punished) was stark.

That effort to claw the scores back as they did was always going to leave them flat and that was typified by none more than young Ollie Walsh who had no more to give after hurling excellently well up to then. The maturity and composure of Galway told through. Fox got the better of Walsh, and any ball that went into the inside 3 was typically finished well. John Power looked a little bit too much like a makeshift keeper for comfort. A bit like brother Richie back in the day.

Its a young Kilkenny team, most of whom will be back again, but for now hats off to Galway. After last year's daylight robbery by Kilkenny there was no way they were gonna leave this one behind them.
