Brolly is going to cost Shane McGuigan an all star if he starts setting the narrative in the media that he's not that good. Spillane said he's not a top 10 forward and Joe was nodding along. Joe claims he's too slow and Philly McMahon said he wouldn't get on Dublin team. This is a man that scored 18 points in the championship vs a Monaghan side who pushed the Dubs all the way, put in as good a performance in an Ulster final as you will see and was Derrys motm in about 3 other championship games. It will be a disgrace if he doesn't get his all star.

Brolly hasn't mentioned Derry all year; it's like he was waiting for them to finally lose a game to stick the knife in.

I don't listen to any of his podcasts or read any of his articles anymore ,  he just wants to keep himself in the public eye

Bit of a strange one to be posting up at this time of year, but we are in our final year with all the kids still believing so wanted to try and book a good one for the last time. We usually try and book away for the night and make a weekend of it, We've done a fair few. Mostly around NI but also centre parks.
Just wondering if anyone could recommend one plus a nice family hotel to stay at. Happy to travel but ideally 2-3 hrs from Tyrone. Someone mentioned Palmerstown?

The problem is good underage players of the size necessary to play county football down the line are lost. Harkin the limavady goalkeeper, Curran who played for, Doire Colncille a no. of years ago,  M Collins of Ogra. The bid Derry minor  midfielder from Lissan, a few years ago. These lads are lost after minor, few yrs playing Junior fball and they gone and it's too late to get anything out of them. It's having sthing in place that them and lads who played minor but are on intermediate teams aren't lost providing a wider player pool.

That's not always the case Brendan Donaghy a tremendous servant for Armagh and a top class defender would have played most of his club football at junior/lower intermediate level.  Paddy Burns, Jemar Hall and Stephen Sheridan would have played a lot of junior football/lower intermediate level also.  If a player genuinely has aspirations to be the best they can be they will be.  (Admittedly easier if playing at higher level within professional setup)

Within Armagh currently there are a number of county players playing intermediate, Murnin, Nugent, Mcquillan, Duffy, Woods, Rowland, Conaty.  Mackins x2 & McCabe won intermediate championship last year so have now transitioned to senior level.   

Are there many Derry players involved with intermediate sides?

Niall Loughlin from Greenlough and Lachlan Murray from Desertmartin would be the only 2 intermediate players involved  that i can think off

Is there many from either side back again next year?

Had a look at the 2022 Ulster Minor Final and Derry only had 4 from the panel that played against Tyrone that day, available again this year: McEldowney,  McGuckian, Higgins and Spiers. Think Boyle was part of the wider panel last year.

Dillon, Sargent and Young definitely underage. Next year , I think Grant and McCloy are too

New MI is good but not the best.

First MI  was decent. Second  was laughable. Third can't even  remember, must  have been rubbish too.  No idea how  many there  are in total , but I won't be  watching any more .

Really can't  hack smug head Cruise  . It's like watching   Jeffrey Donaldson for 2 hours

The MI films have been quite good with the exception of 2 which was utter w**k. They are definitely better than the rubbish  Daniel Craig James Bond films. I liked bond when it was all a bit of fun but the more serious Craig films have been poor yet get good reviews .

Would 100% agree that second one was absolute garbage , but thought the the rest  of theMI films were good though (Also enjoyed the Craig bond films bar Quantum of Solace )

Some of the '89 minors were still available. The likes of Burns, Diamond etc played on that team.

Beat by Meath in the semi final in Castleblaney. Geraghty was whb for Meath that day.. I think

Gary Coleman,  would have been still been under 21 in 93 & Dermot  Dougan also played that day ( Dougie &Karl  Diamond were on the bench in 1989 but were still under 16 )

Best team to come out of Derry since their 1989 Team. Derry now had 4 fairly strong minor teams over the past 4yrs.

3 outta that team started in 93 final, with Burnsy on the bench.

I wouldn't  call myself  a huge fan of the Artic Monkeys but that was underwhelming IMHO

Not sure if it's an option for you but TransLink are doing a bus to it (on 212 Route ) that is doing a pick up at Toome at 4.(leaving Belfast again at 11pm)

Will be interesting to see how this pans out. Wonder will the Donaghadee KC be taking an unfair dismissal case for him the way he did the lad from Emerson's?  Have to say that the NI Industrial Tribunals is the place to be at the moment with Donna Traynor there too with the BBC!!
