Had to post on here after Ciaran Whelan (aka the roughest tr**p of the 00's) started going on about Tyrone 'sledging' and point out McMahon in particular on Sunday Game... Was Whelan actually in Ballybofey today on the sidelines, ears pricked up to hear what exactly was being said on the pitch? Because if he's going to sit on national TV and say that, he'd need to have evidence.

No 'true gael' engages in sledging? What a crock.

Whelan was no angel but he never got up to that shite Tyrone were at today, murphy and McGee were obviously picked out for the verbals and late tackles....and saint Mickey (who not long ago made a appearance in our church hall talking about faith and living a moral life)say he can't control what his players get up to on the pitch and then you have a gypsy like Devlin trying to act the hard man and according to a close friend threatened to kick the shite out of a 10 year old in a u/12 match!!!scumbags the lot if them

Martin McHugh has spoken about the grief he got from Keith Barry in the 92 AI Final, especially after he missed an early free. He shut him up pretty quickly, taking him on and beating him and getting a few class scores.

I'd say Barry probably just got into his head and played with his mind, almost putting him into a hypnotic state.

Barr!!! Not Barry

Recently took up golf in a more serious way.  Had always futtered about playing the odd round here & there.  But took out membership this year & will be playing off 24.

As you can tell, i'm not going to break into the professional ranks any time soon, but i think a handicap of 20 this time next year is a reasonable target.

Putting is my biggest Achilles' Heel at the minute & i know it's the part of my game is going to need the most practice.

In the last few rounds I've put a 4 hybird in the bag & this has helped me immensely.  My 3 & 4 irons are now redundant (rarely used them anyway as i found them so hard to hit).

What does everyone else keep in there bag?  I've Driver, 5 Wood, 4 Hybrid, 3-9 irons, PW, SW & Putter.

If i'm going to sack the 3 iron there is room for 2 more clubs in the bag - any recommendations?

well at 24 drop the 5 wood, youll find your 4 hybrid will be a similar distance to a 5 wood...you could add a 3 wood but again if your comfortable with your hybrid that's the club to stick with as you would only use a 3 wood for second shots on par 5's and you probably wont reach the green anyway.
When your getting more comfortable with your irons id give the four iron ago and stick with it as its very useful for playing low shots to get you out of bother
As for using a gap wedge well that would be within the distance where you could use 7 or 8 iron bump and run shots (play off the back foot with a putter action) again once you feel comfortable and more confident you could experiment with a gap wedge and see which has the best results.
all my opinion of course,i play off 6 and like you if my putting was better id probably cut off a few more.

I don't buy all this 'better than Rory at his age' nonsense. That will be decided on Sunday!!

The interviewer on BBC asked McIlroy a fantastic question last night "We know you and one or two others have an extra gear that nobody can match... Are you sensing that you're close to engaging that this weekend?"

Personaly I don't think he is but 2 players in the chasing pack have it and could do damage in Mickelson and DJ (-7 on the par 5s yesterday is evidence of that). I still think tonight and tomorrow will be worth watching but I got Spieth @ 14s so I hope he does it!!

I think because Speith is so far ahead players will just have to be very aggressive and this will mean great viewing, between great shots and total disasters it makes for great viewing,as screen said there are a few players capable of doing something magic and it will be interesting to see if speith drops a few shots if he can hold his nerve.

If you take a quick look through my posts I state several times what my club is,my background and quite a few on here know who I am and I don't hide it so tear away ......it's quite obvious my point in making my first post on this topic has went totally over your head so as the man said there's no point debating with a Jack Russell!! So I'll leave it there so,and sure your the winner anyway.

People call Brolly all sorts of names as he has a history of publicly slagging off people, whilst Mickey Harte does not indulge in this bullying type of behaviour.  As a result of this, is it hard for you to see why people attack Brolly and have a bit more respect for Harte?

As for Brolly putting his money where his mouth is, let him enter the world of management to see how he fares considering he is seemingly an expert in that field with the solution to all of footballs problems and would win an All Ireland and win it in style playing football the way it should be played.

Look nrico I am not going to contradict my original point and start slagging Mickey Harte because I used him to highlight my point as I knew exactly what reaction it would get but to say he never used bully like behaviour is astounding,I suggest you do a little research starting with glencull and right up to the Brian carty affair....bullying can be perceived in many different ways.

Thankyou some of you have just made my point, how dare I or anyone say a thing about Mickey sure I dont know everything,I don't know what Mickey does with his brown envelopes so why should I assume,EXACTLY!!.....a lot of you come on here and insult joe brolly and in most cases don't know the full story on certain issues but that doesn't stop you from calling him every name under the sun,I have a very high regard for Mickey Harte but it's amazing when I use his name in a uncomplementary manner the high horse brigade ride in so my advise would be before you start slandering brolly and his like take a closer look at your own.

By the way I certainly don't agree with brolly on most things but he puts his money (pardon the pun) where his mouth is

P.s. Bennyharp your comment about my club being a scabby club says a hell of a lot more about you than does of me my friend

hes gone too far re harte this time, he will be needing a solicitor by the end of the week.???

If there's a pound in it for Mickey there very well could be,it really amuses me how people react to joe when he dare says a bad word about our great Mickey they come out all guns blazing, well let me tell you ask brolly to do something for your club and he be right there, ask Mickey and you will be told how much to put in the envelope.....and yes I know that for fact, have dealt with both.

Another point that people havent mentioned is if Derry want to continue playing this crap the fundamental thing they are missing to do it is fitness, the last 15mins against dublin they completely ran out of steam and i cant see there fitness improve enough in time for championship so hopefully McIvor dumps this tactic
