Gaa Beo.

Tg4 has been a godsend to all GAA followers.
Your coverage of football and hurling throughout the year has been terrific and continues to improve.
The introduction of the "deferred game" was a great idea.

Looking forward to the 'Blayney / Clontibret game as we play the winners.

Congratulations.

Later matches will be posted here when the fixture list is decided. We tend not to look too far in advance at this time of year due to the possibility of postponements, draws/replays, etc. Also, for the 2 matches mentioned above they are 'stand alone' fixtures, ie there is no deferred match on these dates. The deferred coverage will begin again on Sunday November 18th.

Why not? Deferred matchs are a good way forward and there are potentially interesting games on.

I think TG4 are showing the Northern Ireland Snooker Trophy both those weekends. I guess its starting after the live match. I would imagine the deferred matches will be back in two weeks.

Hardy

Having often praised TG4's GAA progtramming, I thought last night's coverage of the club championships descended to near-RTÉ Sunday-night levels. It's just not possible to cram highlights of four matches into a half-hour programme, with one break in the middle and one at the end. The result is that the only 'highlights' we see are scores and we don't even see all of those.

The low point was reached last night when watching the 'highlights' of Seneschalstown-Vincents and the score was something like 5 points each. Then Vincents got a point and the current score came up again - Seneschalstown 1-5, Vincents 0-6! We never saw the goal! It may have been the worst goal ever scored in the club championship (I'll never know now) but surely the only goal in any game must qualify as a highlight?

It's great to have TG4, so I hope they'll take this as constructive criticism – a critical audience is a good guarantee of standards. Couldn't we have another half hour of Monday highlights – we'd miss an episode of Ros na Rún, maybe. Win - win!

It was a penalty, but still should have been shown alright. This is not the first time I have come across this, in highlights of a county final back in October they didn't show crucial goal chances at the end of the game, which when put in context are as much of a highlight as close in point from play from the first half

On another point, TG4 often show deferred games on Sundays. However with so many grounds with expensive floodlights could one game not simply start at 3:30 with a bit of artificial light thrown in?
