They aren't great defensively.  Both are good attacking,  but they are weak when put under pressure. Walker looks good at city because they have so much of the ball. He lost his place last season at Spurs, and trippier has been solid since.

Trippers crossing is also superior as an attacking full back.

Trippier a more then able replacement for Walker. Able to defend and good crosser.
Ben Davies is solid too. Walker and Rose were very over rated.

Walker and Rose really arenít overrated. Theyíre by some distance the best 2 full backs in the PL.

Pochettino did wonders to convert them from erratic speed merchants into players who 9 times out of 10 dominate the opposing wingers in both directions. The consistency each showed last season was extraordinary given what went before.

It appears that Poch is doing likewise with Davies and Trippier. But not even Poch can make them boys as quick as those theyíve replaced, which is why they donít have the same natural peak.
Are Walker and Rose by some distance better full backs than for example Valencia,Azpilicueta? i think not.

Trippier was a good full back at Burnley and he has decent chance to be as good or not better than Walker was with Totteringham.

Youse two are pure mad. Youíre equating excellence at going forward as meaning inferiority in defence.

Spurs had the best defensive record in England each of the past two seasons. The only time their defence was torn a new one in that two years was by liverpool, who didnít even capitalise with goals. Every other game Spurs were comfortable at the back.

You canít do that in England without quality full backs as thereís still 7-8 teams who play football ďdone the channelsĒ.

Defensively weak my arse.

I would be happy enough with a last 8 place this season. It would be a massive improvement on last season. It is also extremely important we qualify for the Champions League next season again

whatever you say Wobbler.. Pochettino had no problem bringing in Trippier into the Spurs team last season and keeping him there. He must have been glad with 50m too.

Rose won't be getting back into the team with the way Davies is playing,

Poch doesnít really handle dissent very well.

Trippier was a solid replacement last year and has been top drawer this. But Poch still went and spent £25m in a problem child right back to ensure he has a pacy option in that position.

Daviesí improvement is perhaps even more marked and he even looks quick these days. But if Rose breaks bread with poch heíll be no.1 again. Heís the best lb Iíve seen at Spurs, 30 years of watching, and by a distance and a half.

They handed United their arses a few weeks back.

Would United have put Juve out?

They haven't played them yet but did when it counted coming from 2-0 down in Turin in 1999 against a much better Juve team.

Weíre not talking about what was a great team.

We are talking about 2017-18 United.

Ah lads, leave it out.

Topped our group which included last year's winners and Dortmund.  Outplayed last year's beaten finalists for 170 mins....

Kick in the balls alright, but onwards and upwards!
Phosporescent!

Dyer was dire last night, Wanyama must be poor if he's worse than him.

Dele Ali wasn't great again, Lloriente and Lamella looked to be making a difference.

Kick in the balls alright!

This is very good

https://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2018/mar/07/magic-workrate-dybala-chiellini-edge-juve-spurs

Juve have been playing at the highest level for 3 years. They have more cuteness than Spurs. A bit like Mayo v Kerry

Think Dier should have been shipped at half-time, seemed tired or injured.

Would have loved to have seen Moura get a run at them, bit of craft.  Subs were probably made too late.  But we still outplayed them over the two legs, so that's one positive.
Phosporescent!
