we are now 3 months on and all the crap about certain people who were lifted at that time in connection with the antrim shootings is just forgotten,i posted on here that people lives have been put in danger due to people being lifted on reputation and name rather than hard evidence but certain posters more or less said theres no smoke without fire.well to give you a update people have had to up roots and move there family, lose there home and jobs,be told by the police that some of the personnel items taken by the authorities had been lost and all because the police had to be seen to be doing something, well thats the reason it will be a long time the psni get full cross community support.

Man charged over soldier murders

Sappers Mark Quinsey and Patrick Azimkar died in the Real IRA attack
A 44-year-old man has been charged with the murders of two soldiers and the attempted murder of six other people.

Sappers Mark Quinsey, 23, from Birmingham, and Patrick Azimkar, 21, from London, were shot dead at Massereene Army base, Antrim, in March.

The man, who was arrested in mid-Ulster on Tuesday evening, is expected to appear in court on Thursday.

He has also been charged with possession of firearms and ammunition with intent to endanger life.

The soldiers were killed by the Real IRA outside the barracks as they collected pizzas they had earlier ordered.

Two gunmen in a car parked nearby opened fire with semi-automatic rifles.

Four other people were seriously injured, including the pizza delivery men.

Prominent dissident republican Colin Duffy is the only other person to have been charged with the murders.

A 44-year-old man has appeared in court in Ballymena charged with the murders of two soldiers and the attempted murder of six other people.

Brian Shivers, from Maghera, was also charged with firearms offences.

Sappers Mark Quinsey, 23, from Birmingham, and Patrick Azimkar, 21, from London, were shot dead at Massereene Army base, Antrim, in March.

Police have said they fear another man being sought over the murders may have left Northern Ireland.

Mr Shivers, who is also accused of possession of firearms and ammunition with intent to endanger life, was refused bail and remanded in custody.

Ballymena Magistrates Court was told CCTV cameras recorded pictures of two masked gunmen firing 60 rounds of ammunition during the attack.

A detective inspector told the court there was DNA evidence linking Mr Shivers to the alleged getaway car.

He said it had been discovered on a mobile phone and on items found inside and outside the vehicle.

A defence solicitor questioned the validity of the evidence and said they were just partial matches.

Duffy may be on bail soon. The fact that the judge adjourned the application is usually a good sign for anyone applying for bail. Maybe another case against Colin will collapse.

A prominent republican charged with the Real IRA murders of two soldiers at an Army base in March is to seek bail.

Lurgan man Colin Duffy, 41, is one of two men charged with murdering Sappers Patrick Azimkar and Mark Quinsey outside Massereene barracks in Antrim.

He has been in custody since March when he was charged with murder.

About 20 supporters were in court on Tuesday for his first bail application, which was adjourned and expected to be heard in the next few days.

The hearing had been due to be conducted in the High Court via video link with Maghaberry Prison.

A defence lawyer applied for an adjournment, saying he had expected a report on soil analysis to have been made available before the hearing began.

"Unfortunately, although the report will be finished today I have no oral indication of its finding," he said.

He said police had been given an alternative address in the event of bail being granted.

The judge agreed to adjourn the application.

Mr Duffy is charged with two counts of murder, five counts of attempted murder and one count of possession of a firearm.

It seemed to be a pretty professional job, the pizza delivery men were not the target.

The simple answer is.... Yes!

Sure don't you know they were collaborating with the British war machine?
Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something
