So you are experts on presenting?

Kenny was always the wrong choice. But he's a lot better than you or me at it (I'd guess). RTE went with his radio perception which was, and still is, one of held in high regard. He is a wooden TV presenter. Not his fault that RTE decided to put him there and keep him at it for so long.

I'm entitled to an opinion on it as a viewer. The man is costing a lot of money to (badly) host the station's flagship programme. Do you expect us not to comment on him at all and direct all our attention towards the decision makers in RTE? That's akin to not criticising any sub-standard soccer player for playing badly - direct all the criticism at the manager for picking them.

ONeill

Well, yes, exactly.

So a manager shouldn't be criticised for choosing a sub-standard player?

I think you've actually backed me up.

Ye are quick to criticise but I'm sure all of you would wilt within 12 seconds with the camera on you.

So perhaps instead of the cowardly attacks on Kenny, assess RTE's decision makers.

Kenny promised you a ticket to the Toy Show didn't he?

Maybe Tony will win one for you!

No, I'm pointing out that both are due criticism. I've said there's major issues with RTE's decision makers in an earlier post. Doesn't mean that Kenny should be absolved of criticism though.

Differences is, this is Kenny's chosen career. Not ours'.

Anyway, I've been interviewed for TV many-a-times. None was ever aired though, as I made a hash of myself!

They'll probably go to the other end of the spectrum and hire Brendan Courtney or Graham Norton. The housewives of ireland won't know what's hit them.

I know an elderly lady who used to watch TellyBingo and used to say that that someone should help that poor girl Shirley Temple-Bar dress herself and put on her make-up.

I dont think he'd last a day in my job, much the same as I wouldn't be any good at his. I dont get paid hundreds of thousands for the priviledge though.

He's very good on the radio though.

I don't really understand the relevance here.

You said we would be terrible is we were on screen. Yes, but that's not our job. It is Kenny's.

If I needed surgery, I'd ask a doctor. Not you ONeill.

If I wanted a proper education, I'd ask TYP. Not you Kenny.

2 blaring inaccuracies here.
If I was in need of a surgery I'd be hoping for a surgeon
If I needed education, I'd be after a teacher.

Either way, you wouldn't be asking anyone on the board or Kenny.

So it's not Kenny's fault. I agree.

It's as much Kenny's fault, as it's RTE's.

Really, explain how it's Kenny's fault.
