Im a fan of getting a crate of Miller and a few lemons. Adding the lemon to the bottles as you would add lime to Corona. Nice.
Thinking about changing it for a few cans of cold Guinness though... maybe a bit heavy?

Do not attempt to hold the crate of Guinness whilst drinking a can, why not set it on the floor to lighten the load?
I would normally go for a box of Bud.
Box of beer and the occasional ten glass, if its not done by the time you go out, it'll be done when you get back! there's nothin worse than runnin out at four in the mornin!!! twenty bines normally accompanies said carry out.
Can't beat some Coppers Pale Ale to get you started
Leffe
or
Aecht Schlenkerla Rauchbier
or
Station House Porter
Last year for a barbie I had a few small barrels (5L) of Grafenwalder weissbier I got in Lidls. Put them in the deep freeze for a few hours first. They have an in-built tap. Bliss.
A mixture of good stuff and cheap stuff, maybe a few bottles of rochefort 6 and 8 to start, maybe a few IPAs then onto the tescos premium lager which despite being reasonably cheap knocks the pants off the usual commercial lagers.

Fcuk me some connoisseurs on here, whatever happen to a few cans of Tennents (super if it's a special occasion) or a bottle of tonic wine?
Do they still sell that Steiger muck?
Bottles of Heineken or Miller. If taking it easy, Bottles of Coors Lite will do .

If you run out you can always call dial a drink!!(if your fit for it)
none better than a bottle of lurgan's finest, taken from the source of course :) although my drinking days are now over apart from special occasions, a bottle of chang used to be the ticket! would make a wee boy out of me now though :-X
I'd bring a 12 pack of Keiths - and some Southern Comfort ;D ;D

The nicest beer I've ever tasted...but ti blows tghe head oof ye, 6.5% Alc I think. GREAT STUFF drank it for 2 weeks straight on honeymoon:)!
Mine's a box of bud now!
Ah now how to judge your carry-out to a nicety?
There are 3 important factors:
1.) Time: How long do you have to get nicely plastered? If your short then has to be spirits. A half bottle can be schlonked in half an hour for efficient results. If thats a bit risky then wine. If youve all day stick to the beer.
2.) Money: What can you afford to drink? If your strapped for cash get te Tescos and take advantage of whatever pish is on offer. Frosty jacks cheap cider is an budget option but the resultant hangover is hellacious. If your a bit tight for time and money then a couple of bottles of rosé can be put away quickly and cheaply.
3.) Next-day: Do you have to get up early, or have a match the next day? Light beer if so but depends on the person, If your one of these people that can drink vodka without a bad hangover, go for it. They say dont mix your drinks and this has a big bearing on this factor.
When none of these are a problem I like to go for bottles of Corona, though also like Sol, Brahma and Grolsch. If you are eating then Cobra is your man as it is very smooth.
But to be fair, me old standard is now a box of bud

Did Mrs D4S see any action on honeymoon if you were drinking that rocket fuel for the duration of your stay. Id say it did little for your own rocket :D

MRS D4S was lovin it, Chang isn't just fuel for the brain ;).....She was drinkin chang too which led to many opportunistic 'cuddles' while walking home up the beach ;D :o
Where's this party?
Lads when I mentioned chang earlier I was referring to buckfast, bit more than 6.5%!! chang is one of many slang-names for buckfast in lurgan!
Usually a 6 pack of beer (Coors, Bud etc) and a half bottle of vodka.
In my student days, used to be able to drink a 10 glass of vodka before going out, usually a few times a week. Those where the days ;D
If I have a bit extra £ to spend, would usually push the boat out a bit and get a bottle of Morgans Spiced Rum. Great with ice, coke and a bit of lime squeezed into it.

There's lot's of variations like "kick it over the bar" or whatever you want. I don't wish to be associated with your banal ramblings nor to have you take credit for my sage-like words of advice, and I'm sure you feel the same so at least try to do something to differentiate one another.
In the day I would bring a bottle of Buckie and 12 Tennants and 40 Snouts- doubt if I could drink that now. Once at a party I drunk the usual before tucking into a bottle of bushmills I had bought the host. I ended up walking down the M1 towards Lurgan at 4.30am-no idea how a got there. One other chap at the party ended up spending the night wrapped up in a carpet in the coalshed!! Crazy Days and Crazy Nights!!
I don't drink so back in the day, instead of having every other person asking me why I'm not drinking, I used to get an empty beer bottle fill it with water and stand there supping away
