TV3 are reporting that U2's last gig of the 360 tour will be in the Aviva Stadium in front of 60,000 fans. Alledgedly the deal was signed in the last couple weeks or days.

No ticket info yet that I can see with a cursory glance at Ticketmaster.

Yes, they're overrated in the pantheon of rock bands.

Yes, the lead singer is, and always was, a cringe-inducing speechmaker.

Yes, the tax move to Holland stinks of hypocrisy when set against Bono's efforts to get the West to drop the debt.

But when it comes to live gigs, U2 will hold their own with anyone that ever took a stage. The 360 concert in Croke Park last year was a staggering spectacle, with cracking tunes to match. If they're playing the Aviva, it'll be unmissable.

For my sins I am exiled in South Dublin. The racket (depending on a air conditions) will hit where I live.

20,000 of the tickets will be sold only to children and dwarfs who will be be obliged to take up one between two of them and take turns standing on each others shoulders for alternate songs.

Genius idea and should have been done years ago.
