Actually it is even better than I thought. It lets you download results as CSV. Brilliant! Thanks again.

How?

You need to log in (gmail account will do ), then click on the tab that looks like a cog (settings probably).

No worries - Had a inkling that would do the job.

I presume we have a web developer or two on here. Here is something for you.

I have created a website for a school. It will be updated a bit each week - mainly to add news items. I have an issue with cached pages though. I add a news item to the home page, upload it, go to view the page but the page isnt updated in my browser. Press F5 to refresh, or clear the cache and I get the updated page. I cant rely on users clearing their cache periodically or thinking of pressing F5 to see if the page is updated.

So, I want to force each page to load from the server rather than load a cached copy.

I have added the following into the <head> section which I thought would cope with the problem but it doesnt seem to work.
<meta http-equiv="pragma" content="no-cache" />
<meta http-equiv="expires" content="0" />

I normally use Chrome and it doesnt work, I have tried IE with no luck - nor using an iphone. It works ok on an Android phone, but it is brand new so wouldnt have a cached version of the site.

Anyone shed any light on how I might fix this, or what I am doing wrong.

You can see my code at www.ourladyqueenofpeace.net

You don't want to disable caching but ...

I had a look at your site using the chrome developer extension and it looks like what know as conditional gets (First few paragraphs in this link explain it: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/ieinternals/archive/2010/07/08/technical-information-about-conditional-http-requests-and-the-refresh-button.aspx) are carried out after the first request for a html page. So it should update when you make a change to the html file.

Add in the following to see what happens.

<meta http-equiv="Cache-Control" content="no-cache, no-store, must-revalidate, max-age=0" />

One thing I would recommend would be to understand the network tab in google chrome. Look at the http status with different headers and ctrl + f5 vs F5.

  • A 200 (ok) means that a fresh copy has been downloaded.
  • A 304 not modified means that a cached version is being displayed.

Thanks - I'll try it the next time I need to update the site

Folks I'm using AVG 2013 and Anti malware bytes but I'm tortured with Ad's all over my screen...Could someone reccommend me some software to block these ad's from my Laptop. I had one one there and it worked but when i was on Paddypower i couldn't place a bet as it was obviously blocking something on the site and soon as i un-installed it then i could punt away...

It's doing my head in, some help would be appreciated.

I got a text message (from an idiot) along the lines of....

From: <+999999999999@mediamessaging.o2.co.uk>
Date: 26 September 2013 08:09:44 AM BST
To: <orior@thewhitehouse.gov.us>

Hello,
Here's a picture message you've been sent from 999999999999
You can send a message back from your mobile phone. But don't reply to this
email.

Thanks,

O2

But when I go to media messaging and put my number in, it is looking for a pin from the text, but clearly there isn't one.

1) How do I see the pick without a pin?
2) I'm using an iPhone, so why did it not just send me the pic?

Thanks in advance

Guys i'm looking to buy tickets on-line for Ajax game in Netherlands but they won't let me purchase as they don't sell to anyone outside of Netherlands. I googled a proxy ip address for Netherlands but how do i insert that as mine so they think i'm Dutch

You can try adding your proxy to proxy settings in your browser e.g. Forego or your machine.

They still may not accept a payment card outside the Netherlands.

Hi Folks

Apologies for my technical ignorance.

I have made a movie on WMM 6.0 but when I try to burn to DVD it states that there is not enough space. The movie is 2hr 3 mins, and when I save to computer it is 2.46GB.

The DVDs that I am using are 8.5GB and are DVD+R DL, and show a capacity for 240 mins.

I am trying to burn using windows DVD maker.

Any tips on how to get it to fit?
