That is a fantastic result. The Dublin game will be very interesting now.

On another note how many goals did Joe McLaughlin score against ballygalget? I saw on cushendall twitter some updates and it just seemed to be Joe McLaughlin goal repeatedly.

Dare I say it but it's a bit like Dublin. Financial advantage, an obviously brilliant manager and a well run setup in terms of actually using money well as opposed to just throwing money needlessly at stuff.

Money on its own won't buy you success. It's definitely a big help mind you.

Kildare Louth a wee bit interesting but Offaly Dublin is just a question of how much Dublin win by. Any less than a dozen points in it would be a surprise.

Bernie Sanders has a pretty strongly worded video against Israel there which is great to see. Also he's a jew which is helpful here. (It shouldn't need to be but the misuse of the anti-semitism card means it is)

So would calling for the deportation of 7200 people "whose asylum applications have been refused" be a far right
Position?

All I say is there was a famous case last year where an asylum seeker in Belfast had his claim for asylum refused at first instance.  The reason for his refusal was he had claimed he would be persecuted in his home country because he was involved in guerrilla warfare.  The Home Office rejected that this would entitle him to asylum because 'gorillas are an endangered species' and fighting them shouldn't allow him to claim asylum.

So id at least like appeals to be dealt with first

is this true?

If he's guilty of what he's alleged to be guilty of then he'd have no shame so wouldn't bat an eyelid about victims. If he's not no reason he shouldn't be in public life.

A completely mad one. Could be staring at a lengthy enough jail term. Who knows what way it will pan out.

The thing is that there will be propaganda and lies as per any war but let's say that even (let's be very conservative) say 20% of what Israel are alleged to be up to is as heinous as they say then they're barbaric.

There are lies in war but I very much doubt one side is 100% lying and the other 0%. How people convince themselves of this I do not understand. It's basically just picking a side and backing up everything they do regardless.

The problem is not too many games on the same day though. Why do you need to spread out completely different counties playing?

Quote from: marty34 on April 23, 2024, 07:43:33 AMBig issue now is that there's so many games, and high level ones at that, on every week-end.

Used to be 2 games on a Sunday to focus on.  Now it usually 4 or 5 on a Saturday and the same on a Sunday.

The imbalance of a split season I suppose.

Majority of people will have watched the main live games and heard the analysis during those programmes.

Is there a need then for most of the Sunday Game programme to be taken up by those 'live' games.

There is a definitive need for a less formal show which can capture the rest of the games in more detail. What would be wrong with a mid week show, with a chance to explore the big stories of the week, look back and look ahead to games coming up the following weekend?

Same conversation about the coverage every year i don't think things are going to change.

Was there a few Saturday night highlight shows last year?

There were at least a few saturday shows.

Yeah nothing changes. There are analysts who just don't cut it and they just keep them at it. They don't care as long as they think their face fits.
