The second Meath goal was a disaster, Moriarty dropped the ball into the net after being challenged by his own goalkeeper.

It was Aidan O' Rourke, not Moriarity.

I have never seen Armagh's midfield outclassed like I did last night.
What was the Meath pairing?

The 2 big tall fellas - Crawford & Ward (I think)

It's a long time since I seen a midfield cleaned as much as we were last night.  McGrane seemed rusty as hell (hopefully a few games will see him a bit better oiled), and as usual Nippy Swift just appears lost when he doesn't start in the middle of the field.

To be honest, it was hard to take many positives from the game.  Barry Shannon had a nightmare and Finnian Mo started off badly, but came into it well.  Donaghy is good surging forward, but I'm not keen on him as the last man minding the house.
As usual the half back line was our best line.
Midfield was non existant.

The half forward line was back to the "Joe Kernan school of football" in that we didn't have one, and up top Tony Kernan's free taking was awful (that's what he is supposedly there for).
There seems to be something wrong with McDonnell.  He won some ball but just absolutely refused to try to beat his man all night, despite the fact that he was one on one with him several times.  He somehow looked low on confidence, but are scoring 3-4 (or whatever) the last day that shouldn't have been the case.
And Clarke came off second best to Fay, but he'll probably not meet many better full backs this year.

All in all, it was just an awful performance.  I guess it shows just how poor Roscomon were.

Played friendly today against as team from Armagh, Tullysarn (i think thats how you spell it). What would they be like? Our reserves played them and beat them by 1point. They were beating us well at halftime but they had a gale force wind, which we had in the 2nd half. I thought they were average enough with a handful of handy players and a 7ft monster standing in full-forward!

Fella marking me reckoned they were pushing to win the championship this year, and that they should win it

Tullysaran are a division 3 team, and have never won a championship (at least not in the current Junior, Intermediate and Senior structure in Armagh).
Should be one of the better teams in the Armagh junior championship this year.

From memory, Rufus had his access to the board blocked well over a year ago - he too is employed by Her Majesty.

It appears that the various govt departments are rolling out the software at different times.

I had a smell in my ensuite.  The cause of it was that the pipe which runs from the toilet down through the floor wasn't airtight, with the result that smells from the septic tank were rising up and were getting into the ensuite around the sides of the toilet pipe - if that makes sense.

I posted this on the other thread:

11.4.   Tax liability

The Schemes are intended to reimburse vouched expenses only to the extent that such reimbursement does not give rise to a liability to tax.

Erm, how exactly is that going to be done?

I had thought the original idea of the grant was that it was a grant, not reimbursement of expenses which are already being reimbursed.

We (the GAA) have made a real mess of this

GAA Discussion / Re: ARMAGH v ROSCOMMON (MARCH 16)
March 18, 2008, 08:33:51 AM
The Roscommon game was the first league game that I was able to attend.  I thought I noticed a totally different way of playing football under McDonnell than Big Joe showed.
There seemed to be a lot more intricate passing from midfield and the half forward line that we have been used to.

Could someone who has been to more games than me tell me if that pattern has been repeated throughout the league campaign, or was Sunday a one off?

As Armagh normally struggle to score more than a dozen scores during a game, yesterday's performance is something that we haven't been accustomed to seeing.

Yes, Roscommon were awful (and showed absolutely no heart) but Armagh played some brilliantly fast football at times.

I'd say the style is a fair bit different to that played by Joe Kernan.  There was less emphasis on Joe's long diagonal ball into the full forward line, and we played with 3 full forwards for the majority of the game.

Our midfield was immense, but the Rossies must have expected their midfield to get slaughtered judging by their reliance on quick short kick outs (and that was with the wind!!!!) right from the off.

Great result, but just as important was the style of football played by Armagh yesterday.

"The role will be to ensure that all Irish Hurling and Irish Football markets are up and being actively traded in line with TV coverage. The candidates will be responsible for watching incoming bets and moving the markets as well as developing, implementing and evaluating new initiatives and products to improve the performance and profitability of betting.
"

They left out the bit about not being allowed to offer any new markets and you aren't allowed to take a view  :o

Sorry to hear it came to that LS.

I use the technique as outlined here.

Using this method I can shrink a 1 minute video clip to about 10MB so that I can email it.

(Just noticed that you talk about a digital camera, mine was from a camcorder - still the technique might be the same.)

a wee question lads

if you subscribe to setanta Ireland can you watch F1 in the north ? They broadcast it ok i think in the south, but because ITV have have the british rights, can we not get it.

I don't know the anwer, but I would have guessed not.

For the same reason that we weren't allowed to watch the 3pm Premiership matches on a Saturday when Setanta Ireland showed them.
